Bridgeport Bulls Soccer to State

BULLS EARN STATE TRIP – With a remarkable defensive play by Eric Aguilar to prevent a second-half goal followed by Jesus Aguilar’s goal in the 54th, the Bridgeport Bulls beat San Elizario 2-1 in the Class 4A Region I final Saturday to earn a trip to the state tournament. Bridgeport will play Progreso at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Georgetown in the 4A semifinal.

BULLS REACH STATE TITLE GAME – Miguel Olmos and Juan Amador scored goals in the second half and Andrew Stotts made five saves in goal as the Bridgeport Bulls beat Progreso 2-0 to win the 4A semifinal Wednesday. Bridgeport will play Kilgore at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Georgetown for the state title.

We'll take the humor shot, coach--but nobody can take a thing away from these great kids--all home grown, play like brothers with great passion and tenacity, like and respect their coach, and have a whole town behind them. They deserve everything they have achieved. Go Bulls! Vamos Toros!

Bulls lost on penalty kicks. Congrats on the State 4A soccer title to a fine Kilgore team. Congrats to a great Bulls team who have made Bulls sports history in only their 2nd season of play. We are very proud of all of you.
