Here comes the big test for the two-time defending state champions in Class 4A Girls Basketball so far in these playoffs. Looks like there are some very quality teams this season all over the place.....Tatum, Gilmer, Lincoln, Liberty Hill, Silsbee, Godley, Kennedale, Houston Wheatley, Navasota, Levelland, Stephenville......lots will be eliminated in this Regional Quarterfinal Round.
Argyle has been ranked #1 all season, and quite frankly they should be. Until somebody in 4A can knock them off, why rank another team ahead of them??? But that doesn't mean a team like Dallas Lincoln or any of the other quality teams listed here could not do it. One game.....lose and you are gone. It's tough to keep winning no matter how good you are.....there's lots of competition and then there's unforeseen variables that come into play. I would not call the Argyle Eagles Girls dominating.......just very, very good at everything. They don't have height advantage under the rim, they don't have speed advantage up and down the court. They play well together and have experience.....can some other team this season knock them off??? It all starts this week. How good is Godley, Wheatley, Liberty Hill, and others? We're fixin to find out.
