The rumor number that I heard was 815. I do not if this is true, but sounds about right. Wylie ISD has seen very little growth in the past two years. (Abilene ISD has seen a drastic decrease in their enrollment numbers) Just my opinion, but the majority of the people leaving are moving to Jim Ned, just south of Abilene. Could be interesting in Wylie and Jim Ned were in the same district. (Jim Ned's ADM in 2000 was 317)

Exactly what is there in Jim Ned that's attracting people?

There is nothing in Jim Ned, it is just a small easy going community about 20 miles out of Abilene,I think people go there to just get away from the City but still close enough drive to work in Abilene

Look for Wylie to remain in 3A. As far as Jim Ned goes, there are a few new home additions there with some pretty nice houses in them that are drawing folks out there to live.

We saw very little growth this fall. What about the rumor of Ballinger possibly dropping down and Snyder dropping into their spot.

The word at the game tonight was that the Wylie enrollment figures were around 820. Expectations are that the 3A ceiling will be pushing 900.

The rumor that I heard at the Wylie game was that Jim Ned could be coming up into 3A, Ballinger dropping to 2A and Snyder numbers do put them into 3A. Watch out though for Stephenville's numbers. They might be joining the 3A ranks.

Jim Ned is not a town. it is a school district. the high school is in tuscola and the middle school is in lawn and the elementry is in buffalo gap. People go to jim ned becouse it has a very laidback atmosphere with friendly people. Look for them to move to 3A
