This was a sloppy game by Newton standards but everyone got to play. Look out district 20!!!! We are loaded.

I'm really looking forward to the Jasper/Newton game. Sounds like you guys are in great shape. Hopefully the dawgs will get healthy and we can see a barn burner.

I couldn't make the game but I didn't like seeing that Newton gave up a 135 rushing yards. Hopefully Tre Bennett will pull the defense together by the time district starts.

Some kid from Newton looked like he was hurt pretty bad. He had all his pads off at half time and was being helped around. How is he doing?

I heard Newton's starters sat out the entire second half.
That could account for some of those rushing yards against Newton. I also heard the game was not as close as the score would indicate. It could have been REALLY ugly.

Newton's first string did not sit out all the second half. Hempstead's yardage was mostly gained in the 4th quarter when Newton's second string was in. If and when Hempstead gets the timing down on the pitch out they will do better, had about 3 or 4 fumbles with it. Newton is very fast. They held Hempstead on their own end of the field the whole first half. Newton should have a good game with Jasper.

Hempstead seems to only have half a line (the left side). Maybe they can produce more yards later in the season.

Congrats to Newton. As usual, you guys are going to have a great year. I hope we can make a decent showing against you guys in 2 weeks. Good luck 'til then! :cool:
