For those of you that know me, you know that I lost my dad to a genetic lung disease called cystic fibrosis in 2009. I have gotten to know many people in the CF community over the years, one of which was one of my dads best friends, Jerry. Jerry has become a good buddy of mine but his CF has gotten pretty bad, to the point where it almost killed him a couple weeks ago. He finally got the call about an hour ago and he's heading down to Houston now for a double lung and kidney transplant. This is pretty much his only shot at surviving so if you don't mind, he could really use a prayer or two.

Not 100% sure on how transplants work, but my basic understanding is that they need to find a new home for the donors heart before they go and pull the kidneys and lungs. As a result, the surgery has been delayed several times. The current plan is to start tomorrow morning now

The surgery finished last night and first indications are that it was successful.

The docs said he could potentially get the breathing tube out this afternoon.... thank you guys for your prayers. He's recovering and doing well

The one thing I took from my grandpa's long battle with cancer was we were all happiest when there was no suffering. I pray that you and your friend, along with the family members and friends get through this with little to no suffering.
