Question for WOS87

Hey WOS87 in the 1959 2A high school football state championship game Stamford beat Brady 19-14 but it was found later that Stamford had an ineligible player so the game was forfeited to Brady. Who were the teams that they beat in the semis to advance? If you cannot help it is ok. Stanford had also won it all in 1958. Gordon Wood was their head coach then.

Brady beat Palacios 22-0 in one of the semifinal matchups.
Stamford beat Olney 15-7 in the other semifinal.

I thought Larry Wartes was the head coach in '59. I think it was his second year there. I think Gordon Wood left Stamford in '58, with his last football season being in '57 there.

1959 - Stamford was 14-1 (loss to Brady by forfeit in championship game) - Brady was 14-1 - lost 8-0 to Stamford in regular season.

Thank you Everyone. I wonder if the ineligible player was one of the main starters. On the field Stamford beat Brady twice that year I was once told.

Larry Wartes was at Stamford 1958 - 1970
Gordon Wood was at Stamford 1951 - 1957, then at Victoria 1958 - 1959, then at Brownwood 1960 -1985 retired !!!
