I'm freaking ecstatic the pokes won. What a great night for the rookies and the whole team.

For coming off of knee surgery 3 weeks ago, Big Ben was awesome. Having an offense with a non mobile quarterback that can pass like nobody else got them pretty far in this game. To see his passes in slo-mo, they are a thing of beauty. And I don't even like the guy...

Fun caveat. When I was still a sportswriter, I covered the 2011 Class 3 football state championship in St. Louis. The underdog Logan-Rogersville Wildcats (the high school where I now work) were taking on a St. Louis power, the John Burroughs Bombers, coached by Gus Frerotte (of self-induced headbang concussion fame), and featuring an all-state, explosive junior running back by the name of Ezekiel Elliot.

Elliot was held somewhat in check during the game, but you could see his greatness even then. After his first touch, I leaned over to our other staff writer who was with me and said, 'In about 5 years, we'll be seeing him on Sundays.'

Rogersville ended up winning that game, 21-14. With about 15 seconds left, John Burroughs drove down inside the Wildcats' 10-yard line. On the next play, Elliot took the handoff and had nothing but turf between him and the end zone. But the Wildcats' middle linebacker broke off a block, put a shot on Elliot and caused a fumble. The Wildcats' recovered and won the game.

Oddly enough, Elliot lost in the title game three straight years (soph-senior).

Yeah, I don't think his style fit in Philly. He's good as a one cut zone read type of back. he has good patience and once he plants his foot, he can hit a hole and he runs hard. He has no speed anymore so he's rarely going to go for more than 20 yards.

We certainly could've used Demarco last year, but then we might not have gotten Zeke. Zeke is even better, and a more complete back. The only real knock I had on Demarco was his durability. He was hurt often when he was in Dallas.

Pittsburgh played their best game all year and still came up short. I think that says a lot about how good this Cowboy team is now, and how much better they can get once they get healthy on defense.

Tony Romo: Dak Prescott has earned the right to be our starter

Yep. You know it is eating away at Tony Romo not getting to play for what is likely the best team he's been around in his career. He's right, though. Dak has earned the right to be the starter for the foreseeable future. If Dak continues to play well, and I think he definitely will, I see Romo being traded in the offseason. Hard to say how that will pan out seeing as he has the reputation for being fragile healthwise.

Macarthur

Even Jerry Jones is not that dumb to play Romo while Dak is winning, the only way Romo replaces Dak is if Dak get's injured. This is Dak's team, unfortunate for Romo but just the way it is in life sometimes. Like Trump winning, Make America great again and Dak win us a Championship.

That is possible, but I don't see that happening. The great thing is, for the first time in a long time, we are in a great position. A win-win. And Tony was gracious enough to see that. A true leader. America needs to watch his speech over and over again. They could learn a few things from him.

Not sure if anyone would pick up his deal. If he had a shred of Tim Duncan in him, he'd renegotiate out of good faith if he wants to retire a cowboy. It could free up about 15 million to shore up the D IMO.

The Duncan comparison is not a valid one becuase Dumcan still got to play. Only one QB can play. If Tony thinks he can still play at a high level, I have no issue with him going somewhere else to do that.
