D-14 is weak but Hondo's 1-9 record is a little deceiving. They played a tough non-district schedule and lost some close games. They didn't have any cream puff 3A automatic win games.

They already played them once and lost in a shootout. Not this time.

Make District 14 be District 15 in the next realignment, that way District 16 has a chance to win a playoff game or two!

Well, Rio Hondo SHOULD have beaten Sinton tonight, and Port Isabel was ahead at the half vs. Sweeny before they figured out all 5 of Port Isabel's plays on offense and shut the Tarpons out in the 2nd half.

How should they have beaten Sinton?

Punt was with 1:34 secs and they punted from their own 2 yd line. Sinton was up and would have run clock out. Congrats to them they play us well most of the times just can't win it at the end.

Thats also a huge rivalry game. They've played each other forever and the game is always unpredictable regardless of records. When they were in the same district. The winner was usually district champ. Plus, like I said earlier, Hondo had a tragedy in the community. A popular 16 yr old athlete was killed and the team wore stickers in his honor. They flipped for home and home and played in Hondo. I cant imagine the atmosphere at the game. They played in non-district and Devine won 50-49. Scored and went for 2 with under a minute to win.

Sweeny figured out the Tarpons' extremely simple offensive playbook. I knew we had no chance of winning, truth be told. The only surprise here was Sweeny didn't dominate us like I thought they would from the start.

What happened in the 2nd half of that game is more what I expected to happen the entire game.
