I've got a feeling Burnet pulls off the upset.

Dawgs are still upset over the previous week's butt kicking. Might be fuel for their fire. On the other hand, game is in LH, there will be a big home crowd, and losing at home is not an option, especially against Burnet. To facilitate this, we have hired impartial refs that will flag them for everything and us for nothing, give us generous spots to move the chains, and installed a light switch to kill lights during long bomb passes. We also have painted our footballs purple, so defenders cannot find the ball. When we kick field goals, we have a special ball filled with a mix of helium and compressed air to get a little more loft out of the ball, and when we kick onside kicks, we will use that ball as well so it hops over first line defenders into the dead space behind.

Not to be a Debbie Downer but I just read that Burnet is meeting with the UIL tomorrow over a student believed to have transferred for athletic reasons. What's the skinny and I hope I haven't missed a thread on this.

The fact that ya'll have had to punt it 22 times vs LH's 7 times says a lot. It tells me ya'll ain't got much for the run, and if your pass heavy offense is disrupted, then punt. We'll be making sure we have a few defensive players in your backfield all night. Hope your QB is used to being hit.:eek::eek::eek::eek:

....I don't know of anything....I know we have a new kid who plays baseball....and another giant who came from Pflugerville who plays round ball...I hear he dunks without having to jump!......but folks don't move to Burnet just so their kids can play sports....besides, Burnet is way out there and not many jobs....unless you wanna commute to Austin like I do....(120 miles/day).......I would think Liberty Hillary would get more kids since they're closer to the big city....but even then that's a rarity since most folks can't get passed the color purple!!!.......

Ya'll ain't got 'NOTHING' at all for the pass, and when your run heavy offense boggs down you turn over the ball on downs or punt !!! LH runs, grinding along and goes for first downs a lot on 4th down which results in less punts.

The # of punts - now thru week 8 is B - 26 vs LH - 7 tells that Bt has the ball more series than LH. LH's games are usually over as everyone else is starting the 4th qt. Running the cloak means you play a 3/4 game. Bt has 26 punts thru 7 games. LH has 7 punts thru 6 - 3/4 games - factor this to equal 7 full games would put LH at 11 punts.

Lets compare touchdowns. B has 34 vs LH has 20.

I will post the Stats comparisons on another thread. They are very even. To sum it up will be another great game !!! Could come down to a FG, PAT, a game changer - fumble, int. or something wild.

Where the hell you been, don't need no stats to show the blindly obvious, LH has never had anything in the pass department. Its that sleep stance approach. Make the opponent think you can't throw the ball, then bazinga, there is a guy down the field all alone, catching the ball and running in for the TD. just wish we did it more often:confused:

I remember the playoff game (I think 2 years back) Rockport-Fulton winning right at end of game, LH has ball on about mid-field, 4th and short, hasn't thrown a pass whole game, all RF needs to do is play to prevent break away run or get beat on deep pass - LH throws their 1 pass for the game (think LH had to call couple time outs to draw up a pass play) BOOM completes long pass for TD - I think RF didn't cover receiver. Bt - Gatesville had some wild plays. Opening KO - Bt receives - ball going between deep back and up back. Up back could back up and catch it but lets it go and gets ready to block. Deep back doesn't react to come up thinking other was going to catch it then tries to come forward to get it. Ball bounces straight up, then takes couple other bounces - G player gets there - grabs it and runs about 25 yds for TD. I'm thinking oh know what a way to start out. Don't think refs have signaled TD yet and then I'm thinking don't think KO team can advance a fumble on KO, but G will have the ball about Bt 25. But then there' a big ole yellow flag back at G 40 - they were off sides on KO - rekick. On rekick on the return as Bt player getting tackled - ball pops out - bounce forward to another Bt player takes it about another 10 yard gain. Again I,m thinking Burnet already dodged two bullets. Burnet has already used up all their luck on first two play of game. Some other great plays for Burnet - intercepted pass at 1 yd. line to kill G drive. G driving at end of regulation - they look like got good kicker (looked good on their xpts) maybe get close for winning FG. G gets plenalty to set them back - then on good run - fumbles - Bt rec. on about their 35. Goes to OT. Both score on 1st OT. G goes first on 2nd OT -has 3rd and long for first down - runs to about 5 for FD. Couple plays latter G runs off tackle (I thought he scored) gets spun around on tackle - ball pops out into end zone - Bt recovers. Refs call fumble before crossing goal line. Bt then gets their turn - runs couple plays - on 3rd down kicks winning 25 yd FG. Thought there were some other wild plays in game. G had lot of holding calls - Bt had more than normal penalties. Was an exciting great game.

No worry. Cam and Greendawg drew up couple of plays and gave the coaches. All thats left is for the Fat Lady to sing (for Bt) !!! Don't fudge the numbers. LH has won 8 of last 10. Won last 3. Time to take a 1 game streak but to " The Green Mile". Only advantages LH has is over ranked rankings, home field (comes with refs), and larger school. LH is on the edge of being 5A (I think they are already there), while Bt is going towards being low 4A-I. Also LH recruiting players from eastern BISD and Bertram area (walking distance to LH HS).

LH better put in some extra practice tomorrow morn. Get the women and children off the streets. Bt coming that way tomorrow afternoon. Get there early - will be packed - more than Bt and LH folks will be there. How many folks will that stadium hold ? Going to be a COOL football playing evening. The Battle of 29 !!!

Not to be a smartass, but I waited 24 hours for someone else to correct the math.

The actual number would be about 8, not 11. Also I think the game only went for about 1/2 of the first quarter before being called.

The test showed cancer was gone but will continue Chemo for several more sessions to make sure cancer does not come back. God is good. I headed to Yoakum game tonite to have some fun cus I love HS football .the LH and Burnet rivalry is what makes HS football the best. Reminds me of Yoakum-Cuero rivalry. Every one knows most people in both towns in these rivalries. Good luck to both teams.

Quick observations: Dawgs have great receivers, one in particular is a stud. Qbs both good. Dawgs lack much of any defense. LH still can't defend a pass. LH had the dawgs guessing all night where the ball was, kudos to LH staff for diversifying the offense.

I assume you referring to lot of fans start leaving early. Yea that happens with lot of games. I look at it as a good thing. Get out of here and out of the way. It was a packed crowd, little boy in front of me kept dropping his snacks and gator drink at my feet. Lot of folks looking a phones, talking, texting, showing others their pictures, and etc. Good they leave early - easier getting out of stands, out of parking lot, Hwy 29 not so crowded going back to Burnet. LH should have reversed home and visitor sides. Leaving the game Home side going east on 29, visitor side going west . Traffic having to cross each other. Anyway if LH hadn'y whopped us, I might not have noticed all this !!!

Also what were you doing watching the Burnet fans and not the play on the field. Was Cam and Greendawg waving at you ?

Brendon Ketchum had a wrist injury (one person said it might be broken!) and Reid Sanders, a stud running back, had some type of ankle injury.

7 - Bt stayed in the game 1st half..... 21-16 at half. Bt fell into LH controlling the game with that running and grinding out the game. Bt only had the ball for 1 series in 3rd qt. Made first down then was 3 and out.

....well....this night totally inhaled!......starting off with the terrible hotdog I got at the visitor side concession stand....I think they used all the expired product on us!!....then I spilled my bottled water....I got cold in the 3rd quarter........plus, I made the big mistake of inviting my neighbors, Hubert and Margaret to the game. They got all decked out in Burnet green with black polka dots......But apparently they got bored and this happened in the middle of the 1st quarter!.....they must really not be high school football fans......what was I thinkin'?......maybe I just bring out the worst in beetles.......NEVER AGAIN!!!!........

Final observations of B and LH game:

Burnet's band smoked em again !!! Burnet players had the best looking uniforms. Wore those 'nice' pure white with green numbers. LH only has one pair of pants (black) - a generic color lot of teams use. They don't show stains so don't have to wash often. I think Burnet was first to start using black (unofficial school color) years ago, then several other copy CATS started using black. Then LH wore those ugly purple jerseys. Cause's bad tackling because opponents don't want to touch them. Also noticed their ball they used was purple.

Anyway on to next weeks game - LH is history until basketball (unless we meet in playoffs, then maybe LH will be visitor and will wear white jersey - of course they will still wear them black pants - only pair they have - maybe they will wash them for playoffs !!!
