Both teams are good and depending on who shows up with the most desire wins this one. I'll go with Giddings by 7 as they always are tough to beat at home. But an Apache win would not surprise me as they have some excellent football players and can hang with anyone in our district.

It took until a minute before halftime for the Buffs to rev the engine up against Caldwell. It was tied game at that point when we ran back a punt return for a go ahead TD...

Took over from there in the 2nd half and never looked back, not letting Caldwell score in the 2nd half was almost as good as watching our speedsters put on a show on offense.

I have watched the Apaches take us down before, but I hope we get some payback this weekend. I hope the Buffs come out on fire.

Are there not many gonzales posters? Seems like there was several over recent years.

Good to have apaches coming to giddings. I feel like we have played them there a couple times in a row.

I remember them thumping us 2 different games, I don't think it was the last 2 games....but we owe them nevertheless.

Gonzales and Giddings are tied at 28 all very early in the second half.

I was impressed at the Apaches O-line and #3 running game. Buffs D struggled all night against that. Apache D had a really good player playing left defensive end.

It got chippy a few times, the refs calling multiple offsetting personal fouls and some individual personal fouls.

It was a hard fought game with multiple turnovers by both teams. Similar to the Giddings/Caldwell game, the Buffs pulled ahead in the 2nd half. IMO, Giddings looked dominant for the most part in the 1st half, but had miscues that kept them from scoring on multiple occasions. But Gonzales running game kept them in the game for a long time. Their O-line has some beef and the center is not as big, but quick and strong.

Apache band was great. Especially the twirler. Don't see many of those anymore. Columbus had a really good one some years ago.
