Port Isabel at 5-0 is a very pleasant surprise for many of us in Tarpon Territory. We weren't expecting it at all.

Homecoming Night at Jourdanton. Pearsall TD called back, a FG and 2 extra points blocked. One extra point was blocked, Pearsall picked it up and ran in for 2 but also called back. Tried again, blocked and Jourdanton ran it back for score but also called back. That type of night. Pearsall moved up and down between the 15s all night but couldnt finish drives. Led 19-0 in third and momentum shifted after crazy extra point blocks. Indians played hard all night and took over in second half. Just one of those weird nights for Pearsall.

Glad to see PI unbeaten. Always a good football season when the Tarpons are in the mix.

It's nice to see PI doing well again. I've missed you guys and gals. The Tarpons could throw a wrench in the debacle that is already a Region 4 hot mess. Good luck!

Yes they could!
I can garentee Navarro will never kick a fieldgoal in OT ever again...LOL
Especially in the 3rd round against PI!

Thanks! It's always good to play Thanksgiving and December football. Hope we can make a nice run this season. I have been impressed with this once inexperienced team that was in August, quickly playing as a unit with a never quit attitude. Got a few play makers on both side of the line. District plays just starts on October 7th for district 16-4A . So Tarpons enter into season 2 now back at 0-0.

Let's go Big !!

Um, in the OT period PI got the ball first and scored. Then the Tarpons kept Navarro out on their posession and won. What is this FG attempt you're referring to?

I guess I am remembering wrong, there was definetly a feildgoal, maybe to try to go into overtime.

Liberty is finally getting it back together after about a 10 year lull. Liberty and West Orange-Stark are in the same district and play the last game of the year. I hate to "count chickens", but it looks like there is a relatively good chance that could be two 9-0 teams going at it for the district title. Unfortunately, WOS is a bit too much for Liberty, but they are setting themselves up for a chance to have a nice year.

I remember now, I THINK...not 100% on this. Navarro attempted a field goal before the 1st half ended but missed it.

I'll painfully reminisce here. Navarro was driving late in the 4th with a 5 point lead. A touchdown would have put the game away. Coach Goad uncharacteristicly kicked a field goal instead of going for it on 4th down around PI's 20 yard line. Field goal good. 8 point lead. I don't want to think about the rest.

PI drives 96 yards with the TD coming with 1 second remaining in regulation. PI has to go for 2 to force OT and they make it.

The rest is history.....
