Ball control, and defense intensive.
Well, this week the Indians take on long time rival Kennedale..
Kennedale runs the Wing-T offense, but, also integrates midline option, and veer plays within the wing T..they have good backs, and looks like QB deals well, and a very good, big OLine..keys to stopping them? well...is KEYS haha!
DLine can't give up ground and KEY on blocks, basically crash the LOS. inside and outside LBs have their KEYS as well, inside suck in blocks, locate ball and rip, outside contain and focus. basic "shell" game..LOCATE the ball!!
They like to hit between the tackles then get you on a buck sweep, or some midline..our defense has to TACKLE very, very well!!!!
Offensively...our OLine makes us,or breaks us..simple as that!! consistent, long drives is KEY! Last season Kennedale knocked the Indians off the gameplan early, capitalized on poor tackling and beat us at our own game.
If we play solid "INDIAN" football and play up to potential..we can win this game.

Let's see.......it wasn't really ever decided last week against Decatur until very late. But that was a against a different style of offense. How will Alvarado do against a team they know very well? Not sure about how much improvement you will see in Kennedale......Terrell was their first game of the year, not the second. Most teams do much better the 2nd week.....but now the Wildcats will be playing a good team that has 2 games under their belt, not just one like Terrell. I won't vote yet.:thinking:

Go ahead and pick the Indians. Terrell's defense is pretty good, but their offense was predictable and kind of a bad hybrid of a spread. Kennedale executed their offense well, but, seemed lethargic at times..first game stuff. the wildcat defense looked good for the most part, but, not dominating. Kennedale is never an easy team to beat..Argyle is the only team to do so the last 2 years. Nobody listens to me, but we lost to a better team than anyone on our schedule in week 1 by 6 last minute points.

Well.....heck! It's a short week and it's already Wednesday night. Before ya know it......it's kickoff time! I'm really torn in this one.....2nd week for Kennedale and such. But here's Alvarado in their 3rd week and they look pretty damn good so far. One more week for them might just put them over the top in this game of two very good football teams......whadda ya thunk, huh? On the other side of the fence, Kennedale ain't no slouch neither......everybody picked this team to be tough from the git go. Gotta pick somebody......so I reckon I'm gonna go with ball control, defense, and 2 good games under the belt already. Besides.....like you said, toddg.......was a darn close game last year til the very end. And Alvarado is certainly better this season than last. I'm not so sure about Kennedale being as good this early in the season so far......too difficult to say. Looks like it's the Indians for me, hahaha. Good luck to both teams and come out rumbling!!!:1popcorn:

Hard game to call. Indians have seen two spread offense teams so not sure how tough we are against the run. Tonight we will find out. Turnovers most likely will determine who wins this or it could be a blow out. Indians play their game I say this is a close one with the tribe winning by a few. Otherwise Kennedale has the ability to make this a long night.

Another good win for the Indians. Turnover free game really makes a difference. Kennedale put the ball on the ground several times and had their shot several times inside our 10 yard line and came up with only 2 fgs. No disrespect to Kennedale offense or Indians defense, I just don't think Kennedale has the offensive weapons were used to seeing. Time will tell so early in the season. Credit to Coach Dixon and staff for having these Indians playing well early in the season.

Good to see a win against a long time rival! The Indian defense showed some resolve in the red zone.

I don't think this loss will greatly affect those Kennedale Wildcats in the grand scheme of this season......Alvarado just played them tough, that's all!!! Kind of like last year, too.....but this year it was the Indians that won. But this win could be just the spark the Indians need to propel their season into overdrive early on. That first game loss to Justin Northwest is looking more understandable each week now.....they've got a darn good team over there this year. So who's in Alvarado's way from here on out to the playoffs, huh???

The Indians have room for improvement, both offensively and defensively..they are improving with each game, which is a good sign. Just have to keep focused and continue to work hard, this team has strong team leadership, and I'm impressed with the positive attitude these players have in practice and in games.
