Headed out tonight to hear Charley Pride in La Grange at Fayette County Fair-Gary Allan is closing the show but won't stay for him-Will miss watching a Longhorn game for the first time in several years

Wait. That was Ronnie Milsap, not Charley Pride. They have similar voices and styles to my way of hearing.

Milsap did the origional but they both had hits with it.

Charlie was in Gonzales for the sequicentenial in 1975. That was more than 40 years ago and he didn't look like a spring chicken back then. He has to be well into his 60's. Haven't heard anything new by him for a long time.....

You are absolutely correct. He was born in 1938. Looks pretty good for an older man.

Just got back from his show which had a 90-minute rain delay and he didn't start until 8:30 and played only an hour. His voice isn't the same like it was 50 years ago in 1986. We had 4th row seats in front of the stage since we go their early and sat in the rain fortunatley with an umbrella. We didn't stay for Gary Allan as he was not to take the stage until 10:30. Took us about 70 m inutes to get back to Hungerford with things dry as bone
