The Ricebirds are on fire after beating Gregory Portland and Angleton and the Crabs are reeling after losing their first two games

The 40th meeting between these two after a 16 year break in the series. To say El Campo has dominated the Crabs would be an understatement but this is a new day and the past is only the past. When Calhoun holds on to the ball they can be hard to stop but I think the Birds will get it done on the road. About 37 - 20 sounds right to me.

Sandcrabs have close to 10 turnovers in two games. If they eliminate them, game could be close but Ricebirds win by at least 14

Things have really changed since the last meeting between the Ricebirds and Sandcrabs. Coach Whitaker of PLC changed everyones homecoming game choice into a contender good enough to make the state semisfinals in 2013 with a win over Cedar Park (defending state champions) on the way there. Personerally I was happy when their fortunes changed and have alway cheered for them to win. But this week is different My blood is Ricebird Red and I expect a Ricebirds win. It should be a barn burner this is a game I'm sure PLC fans will want more than any other. The Bird Crab series http://www.lonestarfootball.net/team.asp?T=1561&B=967&REC=3-35-1&S=
Missing from that list were games played in 2002,2003,2004, & 2005 all Bird wins

El Campo is just getting better each week and is too good to lose in this game. Ricebirds by 21.

Yea, the Crabs are winless in the last 35 games but they did manage a scoreless tie in 1969. I'm sure coach Whitaker and the players are well aware of the history and that makes me a bit nervous. The Birds may have to weather a first quarter storm like they did against Angleton only this one will be on the road.

In back to back games the Birds have started to look pretty good. The defense will have to maintain their assignments this week against the Crabs running game. They need to keep running the ball like they did last week. The passing game, yes I said El Campo passing game, is starting to take off.

I think the Birds will take care of business 35-10.

Be warned Ricebird fans. Port Lavaca fans are not very friendly, especially the ones they let sit on the visitor's side. Last year they roped off half of the visitor's side and give it to the overflow of sandcrab fans.
