Northwest is 6A drop down to 5A team this year, though they played as 6a the last 2 years with 5a numbers due to the new HS opening a few years back..that being said, though their record didnt show it, they were competitive in 6a. this year they will make some hay with 3 D1 commits in their 5a district which includes Aledo.
The Indians will have thier hands full to start this season..but, thats how you find out things about your team, and make step changes toward improving. if the Indians come out focused, and play their game, we will come out with the win..gotta make that big ole QB for the Texans run and not find that D1 reciever in space, of course that means to tackle him in the process LOL. It will be great because the Texans will give the same looks on offense as next weeks opponent Decatur..so hopefully its a Win, Win for the Indians!!:cheerl:

Just from talking to him I know he has some studs. His qb, an o lineman, and a wr are the ones he keeps talking about. It is his first year there so I am anxious to see how he does.

It's interesting watching JV games between 2 programs that have never played against each other. Varsity coaches from both teams were on the sidelines getting a feel for the game on Friday. Northwest must have tried 10 different schemes against our pitch plays..with the districts they have competed in the last 12 years or so, I doubt they have faced the "I" much, unless they played euless Trinity or Katy recently.. I don't think they have.

We played well at times, and at times we faltered..but, the Indians kept pluggin and showed a lot of grit..we will learn and get better from this loss.
