Gilmer has 6 teams inside of the top 20 . . .

Liberty-Eylau
Carthage
Atlanta
Pittsburg
Gladewater
Pleasant Grove

Also have scrimmages against Kilgore and Henderson with other games against Center and Nacogdoches.

By far the toughest schedule Gilmer has seen in a long time.

WOS is lucky to just have 10 opponents as difficult as it was to get a full schedule for the Fall. We play #8 D1 Kennedale, #17 D1 Silsbee and a 5A Nederland that's picked to win their district. We ARE 9-1 against the D2 Top 18 over the past two seasons (#2 Gilmer, #3 Cuero, #4 Celina, #5 La Grange, #7 Bellvile, #9 Giddings, #12 Wharton, #17 Sinton, #18 Jasper x 2) so our Seniors are quite battle-tested going in as it is. Should be a fun season!

The Gobblers should make some noise after a strong run last season.

I'm interested in seeing what the Texans have this year, they finished the last season pretty strong.

I've been super busy with my new job lately, so I haven't had much chance to look at these rankings until now. But, to me, these look about right. I think this is going to be a really fun year again for Div II. There's a clear No. 1, and I don't think anybody's going to move the Mustangs out of that spot until possibly the state title game. They may get pushed in a game or two, but I foresee them heading to Jerry's World with a 15-0 record. After WOS, though, it opens up a bit, in my opinion. If Gilmer finds a QB, they'll be dangerous and probably the Region II favorite. Region II was already nasty, and with Celina coming back into the mix, it got even nastier. The Bobcats are going to miss a few big pieces, but from what I've heard, they've got some really good ones coming in again. And don't sleep on Jasper. They've got speed to burn and talent at key positions. Plus, they're coming down from Div. I. Going to be some fun playoff games in Reg. II come November/December.

I love Graham coming down to Div II, too. They'll make some noise, if not win, Region I, making for a fun semifinal matchup against the Region II winner. Lots of familiar faces in these rankings, as you'd expect. It's good to see Wimberley back in the top 20. They finished the year strong in 2015, and I suspect they'll do some work and make a nice playoff run this fall as well.

I'm glad the 7-on-7 tournament starts tomorrow. The itch for some Texas HS football is getting serious, as it usually does this time of year.

The Gobblers should make some noise after a strong run last season.district matchup then hopefully for Region title Cuero vs Sinton. Both fell to WOS. Both would like another shot at them. Sinton lost a good player to Yoakum but should have some good upcoming kids ready to make a varsity impact. Good luck to Gobblers this season.

There's also a few other region 4 teams that would like a shot at WOS!

There's also a few other region 4 teams that would like a shot at WOS!yep but those teams most likely want another shot at the team that has knock them out past couple of seasons. Navarro(Cuero) and Wimberley(Sinton). Wharton adds a new twist to playoffs.

True, certain teams like the ones you mentioned have histories with eachother. I was only saying that if you want to be the best you have to beat the best, and WOS is the best.
I agree with scoop though, I don't see wharton knocking off any of the recent region 4 powers. We played them in 2012 in the playoffs and it wasn't that close.
