out of the teams that arent ranked in the polls, who are the teams to watch? ive heard columbus, altair rice consolidated, yoakum and edna are tough but arent getting much love. i dont really hear a lot from outside this part of the state so chime in if you know of a team thats loaded but isnt getting noticed.

Port Isabel is loaded with speed on both sides of the ball. They have had a tough Pre-season, facing some very loaded 4A school. One of which was between Port Isabel, and Los Fresnos. Los Fresnos is still undefeated, and has bee avg, 400 plus yards, and points every game. Port Isabel played Los Fresnos, and loss 42 to 35, but Port Isabel had more total yards at 481 rushing. Port Isabel is 2-0 in District. They beat Rio Hondo 45-0 and Hidalgo 35-3. They have the states fastest 400 meter sprinter on the team, followed by a host of very fast back, guards, linebackers, quarterbacks, receivers, and tackles. They have been avg, at least 30 points per game, and avg around 400 yards per game. They run so many different plays that I have lost count. It is very tough to know what plays they will be using week to week. :D :D

Watch for Carthage, We are improved from our 0-2 start. We beat Dibol and LE then lost to a good 4a Kilgore team but hung tough. Look for us to tear up district 16!

Fairfield there dominating there district so far with a 48-7 win against a pretty good Groesbeck team and a 61-0 victory against Trinity

Another team is Mathis Pirates. We have made to playoffs 6 yrs straight. And one State game appearance. This year just might be another one we are 4-1 and we have a sophmore QB starting that has an arm!!!!!!! And he is not afraid to use it!!!!!! Also our running game that can be a gamebreaker. Anyways, yall be hearing from us a whole lot more and not to mention sophmore QB,Eddie Benavidez!!!!!!!! For example :D , against Hebb. he threw for pretty close to 300 yards. :D :D :D :D

Wharton will go Division I, after watching these guys play against A-Pass, these guys have the potenial to be great and really suprise some folks, but can they put it together?? They are loaded with talent. Hope they wait until after the Edna game.

Very proud of the Cowboys, but I don't know if you could rank them since the teams they have played are not top rated teams. Maybe if they start with a win against their first district opponent in the Devine Warhorses, and the Hondo Owls then maybe we can start talking about rankings.

I hope they are for real, as they would be an excellent chance I could see my fantasy match-up I have had for years; Port Isabel Tarpons vs. Cotulla Cowboys, this possible match-up would happen at the area game. :D

I like to read posts like this, about unranked teams... It's really cool to follow some of these great teams, and it's to their benefit too. Being unranked and fair gives you the chance to shock ppl by upsetting a ranked team, and how awesome it is to read about these upsets! Being ranked simply makes you a more desired team to beat, but when you aren't ranked, you have everything to gain, and much less to lose...
