Noticed the Salado pitcher was 13-0, but their overall record is 29-11, I am guess they don't have a great number 2 or did they just struggle to start the year? Should be a great final tomorrow!

I think it is crap that these teams play three game series all through playoffs and they get to state and its one and done. It makes no difference that you have four good pitchers. You go against another teams No1 ace and it's over. Same could be said about Bosqueville and West too. They are loaded with pitching.

We have great pitching depth this year, will only come into play if we have to substitute early. Playoffs with one and done can happen in the first round of the playoffs.....if the flip is won by the team that feels their pitching rotation is not deep. Salado lost most of their games early in tournament play to higher classification schools, but did drop a few to some 4A opponents later in the season. They probably have a pretty darn good team that is seasoned and "hot" right now. One bad game and you're done......that's why winning State is so tough. Normally, the team playing the best at this juncture wins.....playing best in all phases. A very good pitcher on the mound really, really helps. But scoring runs and putting a bat on the ball puts pressure on any pitcher. Hitting counts too. Then there's playing good defense and not committing mental and actual errors. The team that usually wins does well in all categories when it counts most. That's why they say "Good Luck" to all the teams playing, haha.

Looks like it will be Cinderella vs the #1 ranked team for most of the year for the championship... hopefully the clock strikes midnight and the Bulldogs bring home their first baseball State Championship! Go Wylie!

I was also at the game, Flatonia Grad 1981. This was so Little League we were all laughing our heads off, what could the coach be possibly thinking. Lol.

Today will be Wylie's 4th "one gamer" in this year's playoff run. Here's hoping this final one ends with our boys on top...the very top!! Woohoo!! Can't wait!!!!! Go Bulldogs!!

#2 is 16-0, others are 0-11 :stirpot:May be... I was impressed that Coach Martin went with our #2 starter sophomore Carlton yesterday (he was 10-1) for the semifinal win and saved our #1 starter senior Mueller (12-0) for today. Go Dawgs!

Pulling for you guys!Thanks. There is an interesting but healthy rivalry that has developed between our two programs. Seems we nearly always meet deep in the playoffs--football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, soccer... usually like playing a mirror image of ourselves.

29-0 for the top two pitchers is amazing. It makes 29-11 an incredibly deceiving record for sure.
