Actually, its the bottom of the 3rd. PG is batting and a single scores 2 more for the Hawks with 2 outs. Now it's PG 6-1. Pitching change coming for Argyle. He was down 3-1 with the bases loaded after walking the leadoff hitter to load the bases. He had no where to go but down the middle. Single to center field.

Sean Bowen pitching now. Came off JV squad in the playoffs to pitch well for Argyle. Don't know why they are not pitching Mushinski. Walks the batter on 4 straight pitches.

PG will play tight ball and take pitches to force strikes. They will not freeswing.....well disciplined team.

Strikes him out with the bases loaded. Moving to the top of the 4th now as PG did some damage.

Line drive hit hard to center but right at the center fielder for 2 outs in 5 pitches.

3 up 3 down for Argyle in the top of the 4th.....quickly. Looks like Argyle will not advance the way this game is going. They've only lost 5 games all year, but this game is not exactly going as they would have wanted it to. On the other hand.....PG is having a relatively easy time of it today with the way the game has transpired.

Now 3 pitches.....2 outs for Bowlen on the mound for Argyle.

Strikes out the batter in 3 pitches.....6 pitches on the mound for Argyle to end the 4th.

Bolden of PG walks Gage Campbell to lead off the top of the 5th. Ball down gets away from the catcher enough for Campbell to advance to 2nd.

Bolden strikes out Timmons for 2nd out. Ball was in the dirt but Timmons swung and was thrown out at first quickly.

Another strike out with a ball in the dirt and throw out a first. Argyle batters anxiously swinging at bad pitches now to end the inning. Looks like PG will easily advance if this continues. Bottom of the 5th coming up.

One pitch....one out with that foul pop out to first base.

Now 4 straight balls by the freshman to walk the 9th place hitter for PG.

Weak grounder thru the hole as runners on 1st and 2nd now. Double play.....back to the pitcher to King@ 2nd then to Boyzuick at first to end the inning.

Bolden back on the mound in the top of the 6th. Bolden has given up only 2 hits today and one unearned run. Bolden is PG's ace.....a senior.

King hits it sharply to shortstop as he fires to 1st for the out. Now Boyzuick hits it hard up the middle, but the 2nd baseman backhands it and throws him out at first. Now a fly ball lifted to center and he's under it to make the catch for the third out. Another quick inning for PG.

Looks like you guys will be facing PG in the State Tournament this year. Argyle did not perform up to standards today.....it happens. PG pitched their ace and Argyle did not....I don't know why??? Eagles defense has 2 errors today, but really 3 on that bunt that went off of Mushinski's glove in the first. They counted it as a single.

PG came in with only 4 losses on the season. They are always well-disciplined and play sneaky good. They are not a power team, but know how to throw other teams out of kilter....very well.

Another run in with that ball hit down the line. Runners on the corners. Geez......Argyle freshman pitcher is really losing it as he checks the runner at first and throws it badly. The runner at 3rd scores easily. Freshman mistake. I can't really tell from the broadcast what exactly is happening, but whatever it is.....it sounds like the freshman pitcher has lost his composure. Now 2 runs are plated this inning as another pitching change to get the freshman out of there. 8-1 PG with one out....I think?

Ok.....runner at 3rd with 2 outs. Third out finally.....8-1 Hawks going to the top of the 7th. Argyle will need 7 runs to extend the game.

What a terrible......nightmarish almost.....way to end what was a very successful season for this 2016 Argyle team. They played their absolute worst game of the year today.....but that's baseball, folks. One gamers in a playoff scenario......play your best or go home. Sounds like it was not even a good game to watch.

Timmons smashes it to centerfield for the final out. Congrats to the Hawks of Pleasant Grove as their fans celebrate advancing to the State Tournament. It was not a very good game for the Eagles....they did not play close to their potential. Argyle loses only 2 seniors and will have a good team in place next season. Time to congratulate the Region II Champs and wish them well in Austin. Good season, Eagles. They finish 27-6. PG goes to 27-4.

I wonder if Wylie has a chance to catch Argyle in the Lone Star Cup if they win the State Tournament???????? They are in 2nd place right now 25 pts behind Argyle and the only school left that could possibly overtake Argyle.

One point already for advancing and Argyle did not. Then 10 more points if they win State. The final tabulations are not updated until June 17th. Those will include Academics, One-Act Play, Softball, and Baseball. I think Wylie did better in Softball. Don't know about One-Act Play. I think Argyle won the Academics category again.

Mush didn't pitch bad but he wasn't as sharp as he could have been. PG had 4 hits and 3 runs when he left the game after the 2nd, however only one of those left the infield. Weak ground balls, bunts..... Had the Eagles been sharper in the field he might have been able to go longer. That said, PG pitcher kept the Eagles off-balance and they never were able to get anything going. He works fast and pounds the strike zone. Kudos to him as he pitched really well. I am a little surprised that the Eagle hitters didn't work to interrupt his rhythm more. They swung at alot of first pitches, chased alot, and didn't step out of the box enough to cause a little disruption of the timing. Don't know if it would have mattered but just sayin. This is a very young Argyle baseball team. Only 1 senior starter with 6 or 7 starters being Freshmen and more on the bench. The pups are learning.

Congrats to PG. A tough competitor every year.
