Boys Soccer: Argyle headed to State Finals

For the first time in school history, Argyle will send a soccer team to the State Finals. In the regional final game yesterday, Argyle(19-1-2) defeated Dallas Life Oak Cliff(21-2-2) in the shootout 9-8 after the 3rd overtime period. Dylan Sadler, Caleb Holt, Drew Estrada, Carter Wilson, Holden Bell(goalie), Michael Rigsby, and a host of other names on this 22-man roster are very excited about advancing to the State Finals this season. Gonzales was eliminated in the Regional tournament by Progresso. Not bad for a team that was in it's first year of UIL competition. Last year was the first year for any kind of soccer program in Gonzales. Progresso also defeated Giddings to qualify for the state tournament. Congratulations to the Apaches and Coach Ramirez on a fabulous year.

Sounds like it was a great game!....congrats to both teams....not even Amdro can stop them Red Ants now!......again congrats to them Eagles...man, does Argyle win at everything?..Geez!...What a great all around program!......Coach Styron once told me he wishes my older boy (whom he coached while at Burnet) could've experienced those state runs the Eagles had.....said my boy deserved being a part of that kind of success.......very nice of him to say that...mean't a lot!.......I'm a Argyle fan!
