Wow. Nice guy and very good coach. Senior son next year is a very good player... makes you wonder if he's already got something else lined up. With team BWD has coming up next year they'll be OK, but still not a good time to be changing coaches right before 'the year' as several of my BWD friends keep calling it.

does anybody know specifics?...Is he leaving town?.....I would think he would let his son graduate there....IDK.....where's BEAST?.....he knows everything!.....

All I've heard is he stayed it was for family reasons, but wouldn't go into any details. I'm betting he ends up in Belton reuniting with coach Shipley.

More to the story now... but same result. Decided to resign for family reasons. Wishing his family all the best.

He'll be on koxe at 5:30 for what I'm assuming is his last coaches show. Should be able to pull it up on the internet if you're out of range. If not its 101.3

Time for the return of Freeman. I liked him.

This will be a hot topic and much desired position. A lot of talent on the way....any ol coach should make it 2 or 3 deep in the playoffs without trying.

But they will still lose to Ville next season because our Fresh is better. And our QB is better.

Big News? I thought yesterday was big news. Surely the head basketball coach won't be transferred into the head football coaches position... will he? Whoever it will be, will definitely inherit an up and coming program. ;)

I know recently a HC of a 6A program that has ties to the Brownwood area applied for the GP job when we hired Rhoades.
His team recently played in the state champ game against Denton Guyer whos HC also has ties to the Brownwood area.
This coach without a doubt did apply at the Wood.

Brownwood School Board meets tonight at 6:30 followed by a Friday meeting at noon. Both sessions are in executive session. Media questions were answered with "no comment".

It'd be a better hire than this guy!! I mean he's had success at shallowater. I just don't think it'll carry over in Brownwood. Maybe I'll be eating those words come football season.

Heard today that Howard is going to be the new safeties coach at Austin Westlake. His son will be on a team that many pick to win state next year in 6A.
