Congrats to the community of Brownfield for winning their first State Championship in Boys Basketball. They were #1 most of the year and proved why on the court today. They are the UIL Class 3A Champs.

Up next will be Muenster vs Canadian for the Class 2A State Championship starting at 1:30 pm. The Class 5A State Championship between Lancaster and Fort Bend Elkins begins at 3:00 pm. Then we wait until 7:00 pm for the Class 4A Championship between Silsbee and Dallas Lincoln. The final game of this season's UIL Boys Basketball State Championships will air immediately following the Class 4A game at around 8:30 pm. That contest will feature DeSoto against Humble Atascocita.

I like Muenster, Fort Bend Elkins, Silsbee, and Humble Atascocita to all come out on top in these championship games. Dallas Lincoln vs Silsbee is the game I think will be closest.

Anybody's ball game to win so far.....with Lincoln hitting 5 3-pointers that are the difference. Silsbee will need to do what they do well and play some defense. They like to take it to the hoop inside....so let's see if they get Lincoln in foul trouble in the 4th. So far Lincoln has answered on defense very well, and done well at the line.

Nope...Silsbee just isn't as quick and does not play with the same tenacity as Lincoln. Let's face it.....Lincoln has played a much tougher schedule and probably better opponents over the season. Getting out of Region II in basketball is always tough.

Freshman Devin McCain of Silsbee is down on the floor and out. Time out on the floor as everyone is concerned for the young player. Let's hope this young talented player will be OK. He was going for an offensive rebound and stumbled over a teammate's ankle.

He hit the floor out of control and looks like his head hit the floor. He is breathing and responsive as the medical personnel are attending to him.

Looks like they will put him on the stretcher and keep him immobilized for precautionary reasons.....although he is moving and his extremities....hands, arms, and legs....and he is communicating with the medical personnel. All these are very good signs as they transport him away from the floor on the gurney. Scary moment here at the Alamodome, but everyone in the house is slightly relieved after many prayers went out immediately.

Back to the action, the game has returned to a very action-packed affair with lots of back and forth between the teams. The margin is still at 11 with Lincoln ahead.

Lincoln is 6 for 11 in 3 pointers while Silsbee has made only 2. Lincoln just looks like the better, more talented team....but still a whole quarter left. Silsbee gets fouled on a 3-pointer that is good. He makes the free throw to complete the 4-point play.

Now Michael McCain....brother of the younger injured McCain....gets the AND 1 play underneath. Silsbee gets the steal now and cuts the 15 point lead quickly down to 8 points.

End of 3rd. The margin was a 17 points in that 3rd quarter....Silsbee cut it 7 then could not convert the last shot of the quarter. 9 point game....anything could happen.

Demarcus Randle just picked up his 4th foul for Lincoln here early.

Silsbee has now cut it to 5 points as Lincoln calls a timeout.....still early in the 4th.

We will see what Lincoln does now to counteract this Silsbee run.

Another miss by Silsbee on a short one....but out of bounds underneath by Lincoln as Silsbee shuts down the underneath pass. Foul on Lincoln....not a shooting foul.

McCain's runner ties it up and now Silsbee's defense forces another turnover. Silsbee has cut a 17 point lead by Lincoln into a tie game here.

Lincoln's attack underneath goes awry again. Lincoln draws a charge.

No telling who will win this one....it will come down to a very fun finish.

Barnes at at the line for Silsbee....sinks one. Miles scores for Lincoln....he's got 24 pts. and 10 rebounds. Lincoln ahead by 6 again.

McCain gets the bucket underneath as it is now a 3 point Lincoln lead with 50 secs left. Lincoln takes their last timeout as they will inbound.

Silsbee gets the steal on the inbound and is fouled. Jabari Richardson fouls out for Lincoln.

Lincoln gets a transition basket underneath on the missed one and one with the long pass down court.

Worth the watch, for sure. No way did I expect Silsbee to come back from that 17 point deficit in the 3rd quarter against this Lincoln team. They were very talented.

Just a couple of those 3 pointers goes down at the end and Silsbee is the winner.....that's how close it was.

Looks to me like Atascocita has no answer for DeSoto's offense and defense. They better figure something out at halftime.

DeSoto has only 2 losses all year.....understandable for the schedule they played. Atascocita also played a very competitive schedule, but it looks like the height of DeSoto may be causing some real problems.

Desoto up now 67-49 with a little more than 2 min. left. Atascocita will not go undefeated this season.....they met their match, finally.

Here comes the fouls now. If Desoto knocks down only half their attempts or misses all of them.....they will probably still win easily.
