He's probably referring to the state tournament.

Try 677 which is Fox Sports Southwest Plus says UIL broadcast information

I tried that but it's Longhorn Network and no high school basketball. Last year it was streamed live but this year you have to buy a subscription.... :tisk:

Maybe they (Fox Southwest) is only broadcasting championship games this year

Not available on Dish from what I can see. Subscription is $9.95 for a daily pass for all games....$14.95 for a monthly pass will get you all games of the tournament. If you really want to see the games.....$15 starting with the semis today in Class 4A . First semi begins at 1:30 Friday, followed immediately at 3:00 with other semi. Click on the UIL website listed in this thread above to go to the subscription website. The games of the lower classifications are in progress right now.

P.S.>>>>Not sure if the monthly subscription may also get you the upcoming Boys UIL Tournament games. I will check it out.

UIL Boys State Tournament Broadcast will be updated the week of the tournament. Looks like a ticket for the entire tournament is $100, individual tickets $19, plus a $15 parking pass. I live in SA, but I will opt for the broadcast subscriptions and do that now on the monthly basis. I hope the same subscription will apply next week for the Boys Tournament.....I'll take the risk, haha. It's only $15.....the cost of a parking pass for one day.

Okay.....Weimer advances to face Panhandle in tomorrow's final. Up next at 1:30 on this warm and sunny beautiful day in San Antonio is Waco La Vega vs Abilene Wylie. Then immediately following this game will be Argyle vs Liberty Hill.......what a couple of great matchups, huh? Any one of these fine teams could become the eventual State Champion in Class 4A this season. One and Done or Win and Advance......will defense negate a good offense? Will height under the basket and controlling the rebounds overcome a hot-shooting pair of guards? Or will it be just so close that the fouls and whoever has it last wins? Both games should be very, very competitive.

regaleagle

Check these records out of these four teams:

Argyle Lady Eagles (33-1) Lost to 6A Semifinalist Cibolo Steele(36-3) 43-39.
La Vega Lady Pirates (32-2) Losses to Killeen Ellison 60-55 and Killeen High 51-42.
Liberty Hill Lady Panthers (36-3) Losses to Brownwood, Killeen Harker Heights, and Converse Judson.
Abilene Wylie Lady Bulldogs (30-5) Losses to Brock, Wall, Southlake Carroll, La Vega, and Brownwood.

Liberty Hill has Soph. sensation Sedona Prince(6-7) playing center underneath. She already has some college offers. The Lady Panthers absolutely annihilated most of their competition this season on the scoreboard, and I'm sure that was with the backups getting plenty of action as well.

Wylie has Brittany Brewer(6-4, Sr.) back this season under the rim and out front, so she is always a bigtime player for the Lady Bulldogs. This is a very balanced team with a pedigree......they just don't lose many games every season.

La Vega is just very athletic, but has guard Calveion Landrum(5-11, Sr.) back for the 3rd time to try to finish her career with another State Title for the Lady Pirates. She can completely take over a game all by herself if she gets hot from the outside. She has all the moves as well and will be playing next season at the next level....not sure who with.

Argyle is probably the favorite......but there ain't one with these 4 teams. It's whoever plays best that game. Vivian Gray(6-1, Jr. Forward) is the standout player on this team, and maybe in all of 4A.....but she has some serious competition out there. The Lady Eagles have a very balanced attack inside and on the perimeter and play some serious defense as well. Whether they can shut down 6-7 Prince of Liberty Hill to get to the final remains to be seen.

Halftime

La Vega 22
Wylie 17

Wylie opened up the game with an 8-0 lead, held a 2 point lead going into the 2nd quarter. Then La Vega went to full court pressure and went on a run to take the lead at halftime.

regaleagle
03-04-2016, 03:11 PM
Wylie coaches will need to make an adjustment to the full court pressure defense of La Vega. They forced 11 turnovers in the first half for 13 points. Otherwise, Wylie was playing a very effective game both defensively and offensively.

regaleagle
03-04-2016, 03:30 PM
End of 3rd

La Vega 36
Wylie 24

Wylie has no answer for the athleticism of Landrum, who has 21 points.....and the full court pressure applied by the Pirates. The speed and athleticism of the Pirates has Wylie turning over the ball off the full court pressure.

regaleagle
03-04-2016, 03:42 PM
Landrum has already signed with Baylor......the first Waco resident to sign with the Lady Bears. She's just all over the court with the ball....stealing, driving, dribbling, passing it off, shooting it.....just a full load, not even counting her speed and the doubling up to stop her. She has 26 pts now and lots of assists.

regaleagle
03-04-2016, 03:44 PM
Now La Vega has opened up a 28-7 run and this ballgame is out of hand with only 2:40 left....49-30.

regaleagle
03-04-2016, 03:57 PM
Congratulations to the La Vega Lady Pirates. They will be returning to the State Championship game after getting knocked out last year in the semis. The final score was 54-36 with Landrum leading with way with 28 points. Brittany Brewer had 16 to lead the Wylie scoring.

8-2 Argyle so far in a defensive ballgame. Two very tough teams here jousting each other for open shots. Argyle's defense has so far been stellar.

Argyle 18

Liberty Hill 9

Hard to score in this game, but Liberty Hill caused Argyle to commit 11 turnovers in the first half with that full court pressure defense. Argyle plays a different sort of defense, but so far the Panthers have not been hitting from outside. It's one of those games that may turn in the 2nd half.

Congratulations to the Argyle Lady Eagles as they win this semi against a very game and tough Liberty Hill Lady Panthers team. Vivian Gray was the leading scorer with 17 points. The final score in this defensive game was 43-32.

Both squads came into this semifinal matchup known for having a great defense and scoring lots of points. Looks like the defenses outshined the offenses in this game. Not many fouls til late.....by Liberty Hill because they were behind and Argyle was playing keep away. For a tough, physical battle like this it was a surprisingly a very cleanly played game.

regaleagle
03-04-2016, 05:54 PM
Tomorrow's final will tip a 7 pm. Good luck to both teams.....it should be interesting to see how La Vega's speed and athleticism affects Argyle's surgical type play. They are just so good on positioning and ball handling that it takes away from the strengths of the opposition. And of course the defense for Argyle is another very huge factor that has gotten them to this Finals game. La Vega looks awesome to me.....very talented and very quick. They have a stifling full court pressure defense that will more than likely cause problems for Argyle tomorrow night. Should be a great battle to watch.:smoker:

I have seen Liberty Hill play a few times this year. Have never seen a 6-7 girl playing.

Liberty Hill has a girl that is maybe 6-3/6-4. No way is she 6-7. Think the coach just put that height to get people scared.

NOPE......That girl is every bit 6-7. Vivian Gray was guarding her, and she's 6-1. This Sedona Prince TOWERED over her......did you see the tipoff to start the game???

lv2937
03-04-2016, 11:10 PM
No but I have seen LH play alot this year. I seen my grandson standing next to her and my grandson is 6'5" and he was just a hair taller than her.

regaleagle
03-05-2016, 03:32 AM
She's rated as the #1 Center nationally in her class......I think 6-7 is her validated height. It wouldn't be wise to overestimate her height with so much attention being drawn her way. I'm sure there are many scouts and even junior clinics that have it all validated.

regaleagle
03-05-2016, 03:42 AM
Brittany Brewer of Abilene Wylie is 6-4, and Prince has her by at least 2-3 inches in height......and that's a fact! Just ask the Wylie fans. Argyle had to guard Brewer in last year's final, and this girl was taller. Brewer was 6-4 last season as well.

Congrats to the Lady Cats of Weimer as they win their first State Championship in basketball after their 3rd trip to the tournament. It was a see-saw battle til the end and Weimer gets a the 54-47 win as they hit a 3 pointer late, then follow up with conversions at the charity stripe when Panhandle was forced to foul 4 times at the end. A breakaway layup iced it....even though Panhandle's final 3 pointer at the buzzer was all net.....a very good game, folks With 30 secs. left it was a 5 point game, but the converted free throws by the Lady Cats combined with a missed open 3 pointer by Panhandle made the difference.

03-05-2016, 04:36 PM
In the earlier Finals: Lipan defeats Nazareth 54-43 in 1A and Wall upends Brock 24-21(football score) for the 3A Title. That must have been one big defensive battle....Wow.

regaleagle
03-05-2016, 04:43 PM
Up next will be the 5A State Championship between Canyon(34-1) and Frisco Liberty(33-6). Argyle(34-1) vs. Waco La Vega(33-2) will air at 7 pm for the 4A Title, followed by the 6A Final between Duncanville(38-0) and Spring Dekaney(37-1) to round out this years UIL Girls State Basketball Championships.

Listen to this one: DUE TO LIVE TELEVISION COVERAGE, THIS EVENT IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR LIVE STREAMING IN YOUR AREA.

This will apply to the rest of the games in the Girls Tournament today......you can thank your UIL for contracting with NFHS and Fox Sports Plus instead of FSSW. Very few of us have Fox Sports Plus.....we have FSSW and Fox Sports 1. So we cannot see these finals unless we have this specific Fox channel that is not widely available. Another blunder by our decision-makers over at the UIL committees. They just don't make wise decisions.

regaleagle
03-05-2016, 05:18 PM
What I'd like to know is where was this disclaimer of limited coverage when purchasing the monthly subscription for the Live Streaming of these events??? They should have had a disclaimer attached, but again those that reap the benefits get by without any checks and balances by those making the deals.....on our behalf. The word is called MISLEADING at least and a total SHAM at worst. I can guarantee the UIL was well aware of this situation and did nothing to clarify the LIVE STREAMING limitations by NFHS. I would suggest a different process be incorporated in the future.....to prevent this sort of "hoodwinking" of the subscribers.

Canyon Lady Eagles 41
Frisco Liberty Lady Redhawks 34

Final

Canyon wins yet another Girls State Basketball Championship....repeating from a year ago. The Lady Eagles have 26 State Tournament appearances.....I don't know how many titles they've won over that span in all the classifications. I would assume this is the most prolific Girls basketball program in the entire state.

La Vega is faster and more athletic than Argyle, but Argyle has the discipline of playing together a very tough schedule and has Vivian Gray. La Vega will full court press the Lady Eagles and this will be a real problem for Argyle, as well as the speed of the Lady Pirates in transition. I look for a mid to low scoring game with defense as the key for Argyle. La Vega wants to make it an offensive game for them.

Argyle Lady Eagles go back to back with the Class 4A UIL Girls Basketball Championship. This team loses Olivia Gray and Kayla King to graduation. They go 35-1 for the season.....losing only to Class 6A Semifinalist Cibolo Steele 43-39. What a great season for this year's team.
