Pretty sure we're STILL the only lower classification team to knock off a #1 ranked largest classification team when we beat Aldine MacArthur in 1987. It's happened before. But 2 classes above us...

According to the 1987 account I just read, WOS was only one classification below that team at the time.

Close to that in 2007. Brownwood had 3A numbers and were waiting for realignment to go to 3A. Coppers Cove had 5A numbers waiting to move up.

Cove was ranked #1 with Robert Griffin (ejected 1st quarter) Good recap on U tube DQ game of the week back then.

OMG. Well there goes any chance of a 16-0 season lol.

IMHO If y'all can play 'em close and maybe even have the lead at halftime, you'll have cause to call it a "victory" of sorts, even if SA Johnson blows y'all out in the second half with superior depth.

We'll be fine. We got our butts kicked last year by Foster, but that was just the 5th varsity game for many of our kids and we didn't even get off of the bus. They were better than us, but we did not even compete. We were beat before the game started. We were young and intimidated. I don't think that will be the case this year. We will be a senior laden team with a ring. I believe these kids will compete. Might still lose but I'd bet it wont be 42-14.

Apparently Livingston turned in wrong numbers and will be moving up from 4AD1 to 5A which leaves all of the southeast Texas 4AD1 teams with an extra week to fill. The 8 team 5A district will now become a 9 team district which means 8 schools will be dropped off of those schedules so I would imagine WOS will try to pick up one of those teams which in theory could include Navasota.
