I did it!.....took a seed from an orange and got it to sprout!.....seed came from my father-in-laws orange tree in south Texas.......now I gotta figure out how to keep it alive....anybody got any pointers?......I have one orange and one lemon tree in my orchard......they seem to handle the light winters here.....anyways, here it is about 1" high: I feel like "The Martian".......

well.....since none of you numbnuts gave me any advice on plant care....I'm totally butt hurt!......but just fyi: Since the original posting I've had three more seeds sprout out.....and the one pictured above now has a leaf about 1/2" long.....If any of them give me oranges in the years to come, I ain't sharing with any of ya'll!...:taunt:....moderators...delete this thread.......

.....yes I know them little critters well....but these things pose more of a threat in my neck of the woods!

yeah...yeah....this is coming from a guy whose relatives vacationed in South America and brought back a nest of fire ants in their picnic basket back in the 1930's.......gee thanks RC!!!.....

Well...here's a progress report of my orange tree for those of you who care, which is probably nobody!......as you can see, it's grown a bit since I started this thread....but I'm really disappointed I ain't got no oranges off of it yet!!...sumbitch orange tree!!!......this is all Greendawg's fault!.....
