Anything done by the associated press has to be taken with a grain of salt....just like the rankings. I would wait until people like DCTF, Padilla, and TheOldCoach comes out with those.

Not 1 WOS player......smh!!

I thought same thing. I saw a couple of guys on team I want mention that Cuero could have score 70 points on there team. There is many well deserving players on team but not having any WOS kids on team is a joke. Also Celina OL did not have any on 1st team and they were best OL I seen all year. I guess all these 2 teams do is win games.

Exactly, Celina also. They had what 3 or 4 kids? And its HM, too. The 2 teams playing for an SC in 4AD2 and hardly represented.

WOS used to get some looks. Here is a link of our all time All State players. Look at 86-88 and 97-98 and of course 2000. Pretty much our whole defense those years made it.

Just a little intresting info. Kevin Smith (WOS, Texas A&M, Dallas Cowboys) will be inducted into the TXHSF Hall of Fame Friday. Kevin has 1 or 2 SC rings from WOS 86, 87( I think he was on the 87 team), I believe a couple cotton bowl rings from A&M 88-91?? and 3 Super Bowl rings with the Cowboys 92,93,95. Could be a little off on years for A&M

Cotton Bowl didn't give rings. They gave watches. That would be SWC Champioship rings.

Hmmmm...how can a kid make 2nd Team All-State when he doesn't even make 1st or 2nd team All-District? And from a team that was one and done in the playoffs?

that's surprising considering the all district teams seem to be pretty watered down these days

Yeah, wasnt real sure about that. I know he was all american at aTm and they won some bowls, etc. Ill have to ask him. My point was that talk about being in the right place at the right time. 2 HS State Champ rings, 3 Super Bowl Rings and Ill find out about what the Aggies won.

This is usually all based off of regular season stats. Coaches submit the stats and they usually take the top kids in that area. I have never taken this poll very serious. Just part of the process. Anyone correct me if I am wrong in this area?

If that were the case, our regular season stats were just as good if not better than than the playoff stats. Kinda crazy. Doesnt matter though, WOS and Celina are playing Friday when most of the AP All State are at home. Not a knock on those kids at all, just the writers.

Not 1 WOS player......smh!!

That is suprising, considering the total number including the honorable mentions. Not sure how that happened. The AP is always a little off and Senior heavy....always has been.

The list is long, so I couldn't double check, but did anyone else other than Connor Howard make both the offensive and defensive list?

.....and btw, it makes sense that the Sville punter made it.....he had a LOT of work this year... ;)

That was for you Hollywood!

I know exactly which team you're talking about. And you're right. Truth be told I wished Cuero had dropped 70+ on us so that our coach would actually be put on the hot seat.

Exactly, Celina also. They had what 3 or 4 kids? And its HM, too. The 2 teams playing for an SC in 4AD2 and hardly represented.I guess these are individual honors and an individual can't get to a state game. It takes a team. Plus the AP knows diddly jack squat about football. They do the same mindless crap every year. It's a team sport.
