Another huge challenge for the Bobcats as WOS was the Pre-Season Number 1 Ranked team in the State and with last years team playing in the title game this years team will not be awe struck by the experience. It has been awhile for the Bobcats and so for all these Bobcats this will be something new. WOS has a lot of speed and good size with a stout defense and they almost beat last years Gilmer team who I consider to be one of the best this decade. With that said I see the Bobcats as again underdogs and I will be cheering for them to pull the upset!

I'm sure this game will get dissected, bisected and trisected, I but I want to give props to the group of warriors from Gobbler country. They took every knock out blow we could give and they kept getting back up. I kept thinking, "surely they are going to wear out", with all of the 2 way players but they just kept coming back. I saw number 5 get destroyed a couple of times, then he'd get back up and run THAT DANG PLAY and go for 40. Anyway, I've always been a closet fan for a long time and they didn't disappoint. Be safe going home and maybe we'll get to do it again next yr

WOS should have won the game against Gilmer, in my opinion. They got out ahead so far, so quick, that I think they thought they had it in the bag. Then it was only a couple of bad plays, and Gilmer was on top. That's HS football. Celina played behind WOS in 2000, at Texas Stadium in the playoffs. Celina has had a good program and a lot of talent for many years. I was hauling horses back from Oklahoma, and went out of my way to go by Celina's stadium. Small stadium, but it was manicured like no other, and everything was orange and white. You can tell the spirit of the school and community, and how they feel about their football program, by the way they take care of their stadium, and I can say that they have one of the nicest stadiums around, although it is small.

Nothing to disect best team won...but damn those Gobblers showed up to play ball... Can't say enough about how they never quit very tough group of young men they literally kept getting up.. Good luck to both teams in the SC game next week.... Go Gobblers!!!

This game reminded me a little of the Sinton/WO-S game last season. In both cases, Sinton and Cuero looked better in person than they did on film. I'm amazed at how much heart was shown by Martinez. I believe he will be pretty sore tomorrow, but he played with the heart of a champion. Normally, if we get up on a team by three TDs as was the case in the 4th quarter, the opponent shows defeat in the way they finish out the remaining minutes. Not Cuero. They fought until the end. I hope #21 is OK. It looked as if he had a pre-existing injury by wearing that leg brace. He went down twice, but still found the determination to come back onto the field and gut it out. Cuero had more players going both ways than WO-S and I thought they would tire out at the end, especially against WO-S's team speed. They did look exhausted, but the effort was there until the game was over. The Gobblers have definitely won my respect. I knew they had a long tradition of winning and success, but to see their play on the field and the fan support, I was impressed.

It was said by someone earlier that Cuero has a young roster. The same is true of WO-S. We have 9/9 offensive/defensive returning next year. I think this won't be the last time we match up.

My response was to a Celina fan (not a Cuero fan) who made the original comment. Stating a legitimate gripe and "whining" are not the same thing. Do you have the same comment about the beef made about the pass interference call? A couple complained about that. It was the right call. The receiver was hit before the ball arrived. Look, it was a hard fought competitive game, but there is nothing wrong with discussing other aspects of the game even if you don't like hearing them.

I was in the hospital listening to the Sinton game last year and I was happy to actually be able to see this one in person. To risk being called a traitor I meant Cuero, Sinton or WOS. I will repeat...NOT ONE single holding call against Cuero and in spite of your blinders and rooting for Cuero it happened all day. It was obvious on both of the long end-around TD runs by Martinez. #9 and #59 for WO-S are tremendous at the line of scrimmage and Cuero held those two players A LOT throughout this game. I'm looking forward to watching the game again on film and seeing further proof of this. None of this takes away from the effort by Cuero and Martinez in particular, but I cannot sit here and let you say the officiating benefitted WO-S more than Cuero after what I saw with my own eyes and looking at the official record.

In spite of all this, I admire Martinez and all of the fight showed by Cuero. This was a super competitive game. I came away with a greater respect for Cuero than I already had before the game. I'm not talking about total count of penalties. I'm saying there were a couple 50/50 plays that didn't go in Cuero's favor.

You can think I'm biased all you want but I'm from West Columbia and I live in houston. I went to the game because it was in my backyard basically.

Not stirring up anything at all but these guys have never said or complained about much all year...many Gobblers come over and none ever come over after a game and say what could have been...especially Martinez and the Seniors.
