It's no secret that our run defense has been suspect this year. Jasper had all their horses 12 games into this season, so not comparable IMO when you consider this excerpt from the Beaumont Enterprise on the 53-0 loss:

"We were without our center (Zack Quick) tonight and it was obvious. Quick got hurt towards the end of practice on Wednesday and having him out was a major problem," said Jasper head coach Darrell Barbay.

In addition to Quick being out, the Bulldogs was also without senior quarterback Quentin "Tiger" Williams.

Williams had been cleared earlier in the day to play, but coach Barbay did not want him out on the messy field with a chance of another injury.

It was very apparent that the Bulldogs needed their two senior leaders, as they managed less than a total of 60 yards of total offense.
