4A was the smallest number of schools last time, with only 186, the only one under 200.

There is supposed to be a minimum of 200 in any classification from 2A-6A.

Lots of schools have grown a bunch and 4A was 14 short of the 200 last alignment. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't put the 4A Top Cut Off somewhere in the low 1100s.

Im also curious what the bottom will be, 485 to 500 if I had to guess.

It will be interesting for sure, then its time to speculate on districts.

I bet you hope its in the low 1100's, so you guys don't have to start playing Georgetown and Cedar Park.

No worries about bumping up, we can play with them like we did Brenham.
We should make 4A this time around, then when our Freshmen are Seniors we will make the bump to 5A. LH will be very ready then, The current Freshmen and 8th Graders will handle business in 5A.

I heard through the grapevine that LH turned in 1092.

Thats whats on the old coach site and should be accurate.

Lots of schools grew though, I heard Marble Falls went from 1100 to almost 1300.

I think we will make 4A this go. In a couple years we will be ready for 5A with around 1300.

Yep, its obvious Cedar Park is better than Brenham, But I have all the confidence in the world our boys will be ready to be a competitor in 5A come fall of 2018.

I've seen a post Gonzales had 722 right at the cutoff, they were D1 D15, will that put them in D2 D15? Jourdanton and Yoakum both dropping to 3a and Aransas Pass moving up to 4a.

D2 D15 Sinton, Cuero, Gonzales, Ingleside and Aransas Pass a possibility although that is one heck of a drive to Gonzales lol I drive that sometimes from Corpus.

That very well could be a possibility. They put Rockport and Gonzales in the same district for the last two years. I could also see Orange Grove going into that D2 D15 district. They have no business in that other district.

Yoakum will be 3a, D15 will look different

D-15 has had some great games the last 2 yrs. Sinton and Yoakum playing 2 OT games and then meeting in QF in 2014. Yoakum and Cuero also playing 3 great games and the first time in there 100 plus yrs Rivalry meeting in 3 Rd in 2014. Will miss that dist. But Yoakum will have there hands full in 3A due to some very strong teams in R4. I know we have Cuero in non dist and pretty sure Gonzales. Our Coach has such a good relationship withCoach Allen I would not be surprised to see Sinton on our schedule. When Coach Robinson was at LaVernia he had one of the toughest non dist schedules in 4A and he do same thing at Yoakum. Those 3 would be a good start.

All districts will be changed according to who moves up or down in classification. Doesn,t mean a team leaving say D-15-I goes to D-15-II. All districts will have 5,6-majority, or 7 teams. So some districts will look different from this years.

If I were LH, I wouldnt be so eager to make the jump....Brownwood has been that team where every district foe was double our size. I have no doubt that you will compete and compete well, but it takes its toll....usually becoming a war of attrition...

Case and point. 2007-2008 season.

Brownwood was ranked in the top 10 preseason in 4a.....got off to a 4-0 start playing similar sized teams.....Wylie (funny that their enrollment was larger than Bwd at the time, but they were 3a), Sweetwater, Lakeview and Burnet.

Then we played Cooper and lost a close match to a very big school....

4-1 heading into district....looking good.

Next week, we shocked #1 Copperas Cove (w/ Robert Griffin Jr) at their place....now looking really good.......Buuuuut little Knicks and bruises starting to show....

Game 2 of district, we drop a very winnable game to Killeen high 25-22.....many call it a let down, but we were knicked up.....got back on track with a win against Waco university the next week in a blowout win 48-14....

......but then it happened.....

We head into a game....not healthy against a team that would beat us 9 out of 10 times, even if we were healthy....our boys played hard, but we're outclassed by a very good, very big Waco High team that just took it to us.....no other way to put it 34-14.....and we didn't just lose on the scorecard....

Limping into the last game, we lost to a very big...very well coached and twice our size Waco Midway team. We were favored in the game, but we're again outsized and outnumbered. 36-22

I have no doubts that that Lion team would have fared much better in the class 'where we belonged', instead of playing teams more than twice our size....but it was not to be in class 4a (now 5a)...

A team that was ranked in the top 5....finished 6-4 and no playoffs...

Moving up in class doesn't mean playing teams with 500 more students.....it means playing teams with 1000+ more students, if you're at the bottom of enrollment numbers....

LH would find their way, an no doubt find some success, as Brownwood did, but the week in week out games against big big teams with backups and talent to spare takes its toll

Yes Cam, but Ive noticed lots of the kids that move in as High Schoolers dont make it in our program. Its the home grown boys that produce. Now the kids we are getting in Elementary and Intermediate are going to make a huge difference down the road.

I don't think LH is eager at all to move to 5a, just know it is inevitable due to growth that is occurring.

Rabid mentioned a few comments up that CS & LV were safe, which I take to mean they stay D1, but as far as their individual number, I haven't seen anything.

Growth is good...and when it happens, I'll be rooting for you, for sure.

The biggest letdown you will have is playing in front of half filled stadiums.....you guys will bring your fans no doubt, but many of the larger schools travel awful....actually pretty sad when you think about it....schools with 2000+ enrollment having 1000 folks in the stands....

And comfortably under the limit. Eight schools larger than us... More interesting is that Abilene High and Cooper will both be 5A if the numbers I'm seeing are correct.

Yep, and more than likely after the next realignment in 2018, Abilene High, Cooper, and Wylie will all 3 be in the same district. That will be awesome

I'm betting that Lampasas and Burnet get moved back into the same district with LH, Fred, Canyon Lake, and Boerne. Taylor will be moved to another district, and Bandera drops to D2

New district will be LH, Burnet, Lamp, Canyon Lake, Fred, Boerne.

Well, the remander of District 13 (CS, Gatesville and LV) will be up for a new Region:

1.Go West to Region 1 and get thrown into a District with Stephenville
2. Go East to Region III with Navasota.
3 Go North Region II is Alvarado and Kennedale.

The Big Question is "who else"???? I dont see any 3A D1 teams in those immediate areas moving up.

Yes Cam, but Ive noticed lots of the kids that move in as High Schoolers dont make it in our program. Its the home grown boys that produce. Now the kids we are getting in Elementary and Intermediate are going to make a huge difference down the road.

That's what you call favoritism - unless they are a star athlete its hard to move in and take someone else's place that has been playing there. It goes on everywhere !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm looking for some numbers from various schools to give myself a better idea of what 16-4A DII would look like. I got 2 of the 3 I was looking for, but there's one that was right at that 3A/4A cutoff the last realignment and I've yet to see what # they turned in.

So, if anyone can find out the # turned in by Lyford, that would be terrific.

But Robinson is dropping to DII and Lampasas and Burnet are going back to their own kind (Hill folk). That leaves only three in the area. They will replace Rusk with Robinson in DII.

I feel they will find a way to put Navasota in with us. Its no further there from Waco than to Burnet .

I realize we are dropping down. What I meant is that they would leave D13 as it is with the exception of us moving out, which would leave the district with 5 teams.; CS, BB, LB, LV & GH. Otherwise they're gonna have a mess (my opinion) finding a home for y'all, LV &. GH.
