NO! Just NO! I think it should be a requirement that a team win at LEAST one district game to qualify for the playoffs, even from a 4-team district. It should be an automatic bye for the bi-district round if the team from the other district doesn't win at least one game.

Spoken like a guy who has been coaching sub varsity games for 6 years. I love my job and love the kids, but after 10 weeks of sub varsity games you are spent and ready to move on to the next sport or just enjoy coaching the varsity kids.

Oh hell no. Hated doing that when I ran the local youth sports orginization. EVERYONE gets a medal/trophy. Gobs of money wasted.

Yep..., case in point. It's nothing more than a participation trophy getting an automatic berth. It leaves no incentive to actually try and get better. Are they good at soccer?

Add having to deal with Lil Johnnie's parents and the respect could easily turn to sympathy.
