YOu know, I get that LSU and Alabama are where they are partly on their rep. I don't have a huge issue with that. What I do have an issue with is ND. So tell me exactly what their 'quality win' is? Temple? Really?

Been telling y'all for years they need 8 teams. Mainly since there are a lot of teams that don't have many common opponents, so it is hard to gage their position based on strength of schedule.

oh yeah, throw ND out and put Iowa or Florida in.

TCU and Baylor both would drill Iowa.

I meant in the "top 8"...and I'd like to watch either of those games if they could happen. Florida vs TCU or Baylor...

LOL, committee making a statement about playing weak schedules....

Baylor, TCU, Iowa, UH all getting no love compared to where they think they should be.

I don't think it's right to lump TCU in that.

The are 20-1 in their last 21 games. That includes a major dismantling of a top 10 SEC team. Their only loss in that that time is a 3 point loss on the road to the #5 team and some really weird stuff happened officiating wise for Baylor to win that game. I think TCU deserves more respect here that what they are being given. They have had some close calls, but so has Ohio State and ND. Tell me exactly what the big win is for ND? Temple?

Big 12 is extremely back loaded. Could be a good thing for them. I know for tv purpeses it will be huge. But if they all beat each other they will get left out again all because they refuse to have a championship game and they seriously think that 1 true champion bs is actually true.

Lol spoke too soon.

This is my point. They had played no one this year. They played someone and got smoked.

Speaking of getting smoked? How about those Texas Fighting Aggies? All that hype & sitting in 6th place in just one side of a conference. Really? 6th place? At least TCU is competing for the top, not the bottom like poor, poor aggy. When was the last time aggy football competed at the top of a conference in football? Doesn't matter if it's Big 12 or SEC, always making their way to the middle to bottom of the conference. And to hear that aggy hype machine, you would think they have won 5 straight or something. Laughable. Mediocrity for so dang long, it's almost sad, except it's aggy, so not sad at all.

Amazing after a big win over Kansas, they all come back like crazy. ;)

50-7

Even w all the injuries and youth, I never thought I would see a GP defense play that poorly. OSU played lights out and kicked our butt.

I agree. But now I'm not sure we shouldn't have 16 teams like smaller divisions do.

With this team teams like TCU and Baylor are in trouble with one loss because it puts everything back in the systems. Schools such as ND, USC, Bama and LSU have tradition and a great fan base which means more money. That is why Ohio State jumped TCU last year. Don't believe what they say about the conference championship game. It was about the money. They would have jumped TCU if the situations had been reversed.

I agree. Had OU or UT been in the Baylor or TCU position last year, there's no way they would have been left out. It's a crappy reality that small schools have to deal with.

The best option is to go to a 16 team playoff. Every single sport at the college level can crown a legitimate champion by teams playing on the field except D1 football. It's all about everyone protecting their cash cow.

UH with another chance to move up... Should be an easy win this week but playing navy at home next week.

Might have to go to that one.

Teams ahead of them will continue to knock themselves out and they'll have another win over a ranked team...

If they win out, including the conference championship, you guys think they can sneak into the playoff?

Saggy Aggie

Clemson is in
Bama still has auburn and SEC championship, but they're probably in
Ohio St will drop a game, they have their 3 hardest games left
ND will hopefully lose to stanford
Iowa will lose the big 10 championship game
OSU will lose at least one of their final 2 games against baylor and OU
OU will lose at least one of their final 2 games against TCU and OSU
Florida will lose the SEC championship game
Mich st plays ohio st this week
Baylor has 3 tough games left, going to lose more than one probably
Stanford still has 2 tough games left, ND and Pac 12 championship
Michigan plays ohio st next week
Utah most likely going to win out and play in the pac 12 championship against stanford
Florida st is most likely going to lose to florida
LSU has to play ole miss and A&M, hoping they lose one... preferably to A&M...
This all depends on Navy losing to Uh anyways, so just going to assume Navy loses for the purpose of this what-if scenario
North Carolina will probably win out, but their schedule is stupid weak and they have a loss. I expect UH to leap frog them after another win over a ranked team
TCU has OU and Baylor left, will probably lose one
Then we have UH, who has Uconn and Navy. Then if temple beats Memphis this week, they probably enter back into the top 25 and play against UH in the AAC championship. So in that scenario, UH could beat 2 more ranked teams this season boosting their SOS

This is how i see it playing out:

Clemson wins out, they're in. Alabama wins out, they're in. Winner of the big 10 championship is in, whether it be OSU, Iowa, Michigan or Mich St. One of those teams is going to win out. Whoever does is in. Stanford and ND play, and then ND and Utah play. Whoever comes out of that without a loss in is. Big 12 beats up on each other, knocks themselves out. Houston finishes undefeated but is left out, probbaly finishes #6 behind the top big 12 team at 5.

I'm going to put on my flame proof jacket as I pose a question. Honest question.

How many of the top ten would still be in the top ten if they had to play all the SEC West teams? Pretty sure none would be unbeaten. And most would've had their teeth kicked in a few games by now.

Arkansas would punish most of them IMO...I Wonder who doesn't want to face them (Arky) in a bowl game?

Flame ON!

Not sure how a team like miss st is ranked if A&M isnt. They are both 8-3, A&M won the head to head.

Both teams beat Arkansas. Both teams lost to Alabama. A&M lost to Ole Miss and Auburn. Miss St lost to A&M and LSU.

It makes no sense to me either. So TCU wins with their backup QB and drops 3 spots, then they almost beat a top 10 team on the road with their 3rd string QB and drop only one. Weird.
