View Full Version : Lorena (4-0) vs Fairfield (4-0) for District Championship

Both teams arrive with undefeated district record on different paths. After a difficult pre-district schedule, Lorena has done just enough each game to take the victory, with a very small average win margin, while Fairfield arrives on a completely different path.

Their closest game was the first, a 49-35 decision over Connally. Since then, they’ve taken down Groesbeck, 31-8; Rusk, 63-40; and Mexia, 33-7.
Fairfield’s offense hasn’t been held below 31 points in any game this season, and while its defense has been suspect at times it’s been more than good enough to help get its team to this point.

The game being at Lorena will help a bit.

I do remember a particular 10-0 FF team which Lorena did handle. Had a front row seat for that one.

"Has not been held below 31 points this year..." I'm pretty glad that wasn't pretty much the district championship Mexia vs Fairfield.

Thanks Bosqueville. I was surpriswd myself. Fairfield clearly had a huge edge on athletes. DI players rigjt and left. But Lorena just took it to them. BTW Briles was at the Gv CS game. So who's he checking out?

Lorena hasn't had a D1 since John Henry. But Ray Biles makes adjustments through the season and works with what he has and his teams are always very disciplined. Picked to finish third in district. We also lost a great OC to Belton, coach Houston. But the current staff just kept it rolling.

I can see #2 breaking that trend. Kid is a baller.

Did you forget Jacob Biles? Played LB at Navy. That is D1.

Dang, I can't believe I did that. Coach Biles and I talked pretty extensively about Jacob's recruiting experience.
