Interesting, is Pigskin Prep Poll usually closer that the AP poll?

Pigskin is mathematically generated, not voted on and yes Jerry tends to be more successful at his predictions than the AP. The problem with the math algorithms is that they aren't very good at handling really good teams that blow out opponents every week and play 2nd and 3rd strings for half of the game or teams with very low strengths of schedule (i.e. Navasota on both accounts). Most people agree across the board Navasota is the team to beat (except whomever gave Celina and Gilmer those 1st place votes in the AP) yet not a single mathematical ranking I've seen has Navasota as #1.

LaVega behind China Spring. I'll even say that is messed up.

Why cant my Mineral Wells Rams (6-2) ever get any respect? We beat Graham...thus should we not be ranked ahead of them? Well, of course we should!!! GO BIG RED!!!!

GO BIG RED!!!!With a mathematical algorithm it's all about who you've played and who they've played and the point differentials in the games. Play a harder schedule=more respect in these polls. It all works out in the end though, MW will get their chance in the playoffs... you'll get BWD or Wylie pretty early and if you win that one you'll prob get the other soon enough.
