The power rating number. It's definitely not a number you can use to project a potential future score.

It's kind of explained here which is where they get their rankings: http://calpreps.com/2015/ratings/Texas_division.htm

Navasota?

Navasota?

#12 lol.. apparently the strength of schedule means a lot in that algorithm. They put a cap on wins at a 29 point margin of victory no matter how much you blow someone out and Sealy (3-5) is the strongest team Navasota has played.

Navasota 31- Sealy 7; Offensively, the Rattlers had a their worst showing in years. As I stated before, Sealy is not a bad team.

#6 Giddings 38- Sealy 35
#10 Wharton 22- Sealy 21
#9 Bellville 28- Sealy 14

We had some players out in that game, but sealy was our toughest opponent to date in my opinion. Navasota is just that good.

Agreed. Region 3 will have the team to beat in the championship game in D2.

Don't sweat it Hemo. Any publication that don't have Sota #1 should be thrown out. They played the same schedule last year and pretty much blew thru the playoffs to the championship game. Might very well blow thru the playoffs again. Not sure who will test yall in Region 3. Carthage and Kilgore are improved from last year but defintley not elite like in the past. Don't know about anybody else, but if Sota is as good or better than last year I don't see them getting challenged until very late.

Thanks Dawgs. Sealy is a very good team and will be a tough outing for any team come playoffs.

I really look forward to a Navasota/Carthage matchup minus the 28 degrees and rain/mist.

I went to that game in Corsicana, it was the week after y'all beat us at Waco ISD stadium. I took my son and one of his buddy's; they were ready to go at halftime; however, I told them "Hey, I drove all the way to Corsicana, paid y'all's way in, so we're gonna stay..........ended up leaving at the end of the 3rd quarter.......one of the most weather miserable games I've ever gone to.

I agree. Even the bands left at halftime.

2013 vs. Fairfield

2013 vs. Fairfield

2013 was due to the team being so young. I would say either the Fairfield game or the Carthage game. Also, those defenses had something to do with those poor performances.

As long as their QB and #1 receiver are healthy--Navasota is the best team in 4A. Period. Can they be beat? Yes--every HS team can be beat, but it's going to take someone with a fantastic defense and a clock eating ground game to keep the ball away from them... and that may not be enough.

And some luck...
