I don't think Alvarado will win this one, but I do think they will put up a strong fight. I say Kennedale by no more than 2 touchdowns.

Obviously, Argyle will be watching this one with great interest. I'm sure much will be learned about both teams watching this one. No reason to leave anything for the next week or the playoffs. I believe this game will be close. Heck, Alvarado might just step up to the plate and win this one......but I wouldn't bet on it. Alvarado has been underestimated this year in quite a few games. I believe kennedale has the talent to win the game, I just don't think they can win a game if they have to rely on 500 yds a game rushing and 50+ points. To leave your 1st team in to run up the points and stats on a bad team, doesn't make you a good team. Looks good on paper but will not look good against a good team.

Kennedale is overrated this year and it looks like Alvarado has a team. I wouldn't be surprised if Alvarado pulls this one out. That said, I've seen Kennedale play live and have not seen Alvarado so I can't make an informed prediction. Regal is correct though, Argyllians will be keeping an eye on this one.

i know you've seen a lot of the games between these two teams Bleedgreen, as well as I have over the years..its going to be a battle for sure!! It's senior night this Friday, this years senior players have always been something different and they complement this years outstanding junior players very well..this years Indians will come to play.. To underestimate this team would be a major mistake by any team!

when the Alvarado QB has as many TDs passing(7) as the Kennedale QB has pass attempts..yeah, they havent passed much..they really havent needed to.."when you pass..3 things can happen..2 of them are bad"..i know its old school, but both coaches are old school..The Indians have an efficient pass game, which, IMO gives us the edge, in addition to our power run game. firstdowns lead to touchdowns..eventually..:)

The Indians are still smarting from last years lost after a ball control 10 minute drive in the 4th qtr to take the lead with 1:20 left only to allow Kennedale to score in two plays to take the win. Lesson learned don't give these cats time to score. They have east texas speed. Indians need a turnover free game to take this one. Get your popcorn ready. This one will be a game on the Indians home turf.

now King-Kat, i know for a fact the starters played well into the 4th last week..maybe they wanted them to work because they will have to play all 4 qtrs against the Indians..that makes sense...the wildcats actually punted once in that game as well..imagine that:)

Must be a challenge to be so talented and so deep that you can't help but run it up on 0-8 teams. Amazing that other teams are able to do it though. Guess they just aren't as immensely talented as Kennedale or maybe other teams like to work on punting (which Kennedale just doesn't do. Just doesn't have to!). Also a crazy fun-fact is that this reload and refire juggernaught dynasty has only won more than 1 playoff game in a season once in the last 5 years and that was last year (see earlier comment about last years team).

Better look out Alvarado, Kennedale will bring in their seconds and thirds, who are not that far behind the ones, and demoralize you.

I know one player probably doesn't make a lot of difference but Baron Browning was injured early last year and we probably could've used him. This year he's a junior and looks pretty good roaming behind the line on defense. He's big, he's fast and he tackles hard. I think he reads offenses pretty good and responds quickly. Seems like he's always around the ball. Alvarado will be a good test for the Wildcat defense.

yeah, he is good...has LB size and quickness of a DB...it'll be a challenge getting him covered up! young man has a bright future!

Wet fields on artificial turf will favor offenses.....they know where they're going and the defense can slip easily. Also the runners can bounce off tackles easier when it's wet.....hard to get a good grasp. Rain should bode well for the Wildcats vs Alvarardo, imho. We shall see. Sounds like Kennedale is ready to play in the rain. I'm not making any predictions.....just sayin'. All Friday games will most probably be the same case scenario. Good reason to have a run-heavy offense in the playoffs.....inclement weather.....or at least a balanced one. Good defense helps to negate any offensive advantages due to bad weather, and both teams hafta play defense. So the team that has the better defense may well win the game in bad playing conditions even though the conditions may favor the offenses of each team.

Wing-T vs. the Katy I....give me the pro-style, versatile I formation any day.. It's taken Alvarado to a SC, won SCs at Katy and ET..both contenders again this year..it evens the playing field against more athletic teams. I still enjoy watching a well executed buck sweep out of the wingT, but watching the I work is just plain groovy!!

i like our chances bear, and after watching video..i really like our chances...but, Alvarado has to start strong..come out flat against Kennedale..it would be a hell of a hill to climb for sure!! Make no mistake..this is a rivalry game, since the 60s, the only teams Alvarado has played against more are Cedar Hill and Midlothian..and those were heated back in the day as well! The "anything can happen" cliche is definitly there, but this year's Wildcat team is the real deal!
Coach Barrett will not let his players take the Indians lightly..he knows better, and, because he is an outstanding coach!
The two coaching staffs are close and the players have played against each other since 1st/2nd grade..even when we are not in the same district, the HS teams scrimmage, and the JH teams schedule 2 games a season...heck, even our Bands are competetive with each other!!
This could very well be a Kennedale blowout, because, they ARE that good!! they are capable of blowing Any 4A team out Period!
or..this could be a Hotly contested game going to the last second...Believe me, the Indians will not back down, will come to play and will give supreme effort to defy the odds and work for the win..i have confidence in Coach Dixon and staff to come up with the plan..but, ultimately, it is up to the players to STAND TALL, PUT IN THE WORK, AND EXECUTE!! this game means everything, and i expect my team, The INDIANS, to play like it!!!

Alvarado has always had a top notch football program. The coaches do their best to prepare and then it's up to the players.

This will be an exciting game and turnovers will cause major momentum shifts. Watch out for them.

Got our butts handed to us plain and simple.. We couldn't get a stop, they stopped us in the red zone 3 times in the 1st half..they scored every time they had the ball in the red zone..I still believe in this team, just have to push fwd and work harder.

I would have to agree, Kennedale is over rated. A good team will run all over them and pass with ease. I keep seeing post on other boards where the locals from Kennedale think this team is better than last year. I would have to disagree with that. The Defense gets tired on long drives early in the game, that's trouble when you face a good team that spreads the ball around. I don't see Kennedale getting past the 3rd round.

I would say Kennedale passed this test with flying colors and is indeed very worthy as a Top Ten team. Not sure they will get another test until they play Argyle. I don't see either team losing until they meet each other in the playoffs again this season.

I admit I was wrong in my assessment of the wildcats this year..congrats to The Kennedale Wildcats!! They took the district championship impressively!! Good luck in the playoffs!!

Sorry brother. I was at the game today sitting with Kennedale friends. A couple of which start on your team. Came away with the same feel we had after the Decatur scrimmage. Kennedale just doesn't match up to last years team. No fear. Good not great. Offense yes, defense definitely know. Drink the koolaid but there is No fear in Argyle for Kennedale. More concern for Pittsburg ans L E.

I would have to agree, Kennedale is over rated. A good team will run all over them and pass with ease. I keep seeing post on other boards where the locals from Kennedale think this team is better than last year. I would have to disagree with that. The Defense gets tired on long drives early in the game, that's trouble when you face a good team that spreads the ball around. I don't see Kennedale getting past the 3rd round.
Mr. Wayne, no disrespect but this Kennedale team is s lot better than last years team. They have all the tools to make a very long run. They manhandled a good Alvarado team. All I can say is good luck for whoever they play in the playoffs. I would like to get another shot at them but we have work to do on our defense before that happens.

my question is this. How many players on the Kennedale team played there 9th grade year at Kennedale? They are very salty but I don't remember a lot of those kids in the past. No disrespect just wondering.
