I'm going to disagree with you on Brownwood beating Wylie to go on and play Argyle. I don't think Brownwoods offense has The depth that it needs to get past that Bulldog Defense. Also, the Wylie Offense sputtered at times the other night with missed blocking assignments, that won't happen in a round two meeting.
Brownwood is where Wylie was last year, I think they are a year away from a really deep run.

But, oh, man ... what a game it would be! Can you imagine the crowd/atmosphere?Would be awesome. Big and loud crowd, two teams that know each other way too well. Hope we get lucky and it happens. Lot of football still to play though...

China Spring Vs LaVega Part II at McLane Stadium would be huge....... Again!

It was loud in the old stadium. Imagine it in the new one.

Good grief. My heart cannot handle the excitement. Too many good matchups to think about, and too much football left between now and then - if there is such a thing.

I like it for obvious reasons but not sure you have it set up correctly. The top half of R2 would not include Sanger if your pick is Argyle to win the district. Sanger would come in as runner-up in d6 and would therefore be in the bottom half of the bracket. If Argyle wins d6 and then wins the 1st round game (you have it vs Lake Worth) they would then match up vs the winner of the district 7 runner-up (I am saying Pittsburg) vs the 3rd place team in D8 (right now is Crandall). The route for Argyle is brutal. Will likely have to beat runner up in d7 (Pittsburg, Princeton or Paris) in round 2, then potentially Kennedale in round 3, and then most likely L-E in the region final. Region 2 is TOUGH this year.

I will say the same thing I told people when we played together in district. I really don't know who is going to win, I just hope it's Brownwood. I only picked Brownwood because I am a Lion fan. Plus ten points might be a little too high slingshot, especially if Brownwood takes the opportunities that Wylie gave them. Not to mention you will come off playing against Graham, going back to back against Graham and Brownwood, not easy.

Winner has the task of dethroning Navasota. I would like to see China Spring make it to the State Title, so I can see some new teams this year.

Well, these are based off of the Old Coaches predictions, trust me, if I had picked the teams, it would be even worse.

Not gonna happen. La Vega may have a high powered offense, but they have to be on the field to score. WHEN we play them, they simply won't be on the field enough to do much. Our D has shown to be stout, we have a handle on our fumble issues from early in the season and we will grind poor La Vega up. CS will face LH. We know what happened last time in that contest. :smoker:

It is their defense that is REALLY high powered. And their offense? Their tunnel sweep is a thing of brutal beauty when it is full power mode.

In regards to facing LH, I reserve my comments until another time.

As if you couldn't tell, I was channeling my inner Rocket. Seriously, I hope LH can make a deep run and have an opportunity at either La Vega or CS. Whoever it will be, they will be tested and it will be a tough game.

Lol! Well, this year's Jackets have underacheived to mine and many others standards. But I know they will continue to work hard and try to improve the best they can. Can't ask for more. Guess Brownwood is still trying to as well. The last 4 years has been pretty rough and a lot of wrong predictions there, huh? Lol Good times.

They'll get better. It's a year of transition. New players, new coach. It might continue into next year (I doubt it) but no more than that.

As far as Brownwood.
2011 was good
2012 was ok
2013 was meh
2014 was meh
We really weren't bad per say, but certainly haven't been a threat since 2011.
