Just putting something out there as this thread is devoid of Wilmer Hutchins talk
Eagles travel to sunny south Dallas tonight to take on the Eagles of Wilmer Hutchins. WH has athletes, including Mizzou commit DemArkus Acy. Acy has a ton of offers including from Texas, OU, Kansas State, Texas Tech..... Acy vs Estrada should be worth the price of admission. Estrada kicking the ball out of the endzone on kickoffs could be a very smart play tonight

Argyle Offense has been rolling all year and the defense has been stout, minus the Celina game. QB Ledford continues to get better every week and has 11 TD passes vs 4 int's to date. I anticipate a big win by the Eagles of Argyle though WH has the athletes to keep it close.

WH may have the athletes to keep it close for a quarter - maybe a half, at most. But they don't have enough to truly compete with Argyle. The Eagles are getting better each week. Still my pick to win Region II.

I like how they have responded. Region 2 is a bear so Eagles need to keep improving every week if they are going to make it out.

Acy's ability to get yards without much help is impressive,,sadly that catches up to them..Argyle wins this one in much the same manner they won last week..
how is Sweatt looking this season?

Eagle Nation

Sweat is looking better but it helps when with the spread offense package. Does the def look to stop Sweat and get beat of the pass or try to stop Estrada, McCook and Chalk and let Sweat rum all over you?

Argyle will keep getting better as a team each game, and Ledford is still a relative work in progress that hasn't even begun to tap his potential. Give this team a few more games and you'll have one tough nut to crack. Not sure how good Kennedale really is, but I know they ain't no slouches. We'll see how they fare against Alvarado. Sanger is still undefeated in Argyle's district and that game will be the last of the regular season. I don't think either team will lose until then, jmo.

Argyle will work Sanger. Eagles won't be tested until the playoffs. They'll see athletes, but no complete athletic teams that can threaten them.

Well, since Aguila started a thread this week, I guess I'll report some of the action on here tonite for those that want to check in from time to time. Unless it becomes a romp by halftime like last week's game against Ranchview. But I think this Wilmer Hutchins team is much better than last year's and this year's Ranchview, so stay tuned. We'll see how the Eagles come out tonight down in sunny South Dallas. I hope they have been working on keeping the penalties down on offense. The D has been doing OK on the penalties.

WH kicked off to Argyle, and now the Eagles have driven it down the field inside the 10 now. No real big plays yet, just driving the ball for first downs.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 07:37 PM
JC Chalk runs it in from the 13 for an Argyle TD. Kick by Holt is good.

Argyle 7
WH

9:47 left in 1st

Hutchins will start at their own 25 yd line.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 07:41 PM
WH has the biggest offensive line Argyle has seen this season.....and believe me it's very big.

After a couple of 1st downs and an Argyle sack on 2nd down, Hutch is forced to punt. McCook returns it back to the Argyle 43.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 07:46 PM
Good defense for Hutch on this series. Ledford hits Estrada for a big gain on 3rd and 9. Estrada takes it down to the 29 of Hutch.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 07:47 PM
Inside screen to McCook down to the 9 with a touchdown saving tackle by Hutch. First and goal for Argyle.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 07:48 PM
Sweatt hit for a loss on that run blitz. 2nd and 12 now.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 07:50 PM
Now another loss for Argyle. Hutch has backed up Argyle now. 3rd and 15. Pressure on Ledford forces him to scramble. He is taken down after a gain of 3. Hutch is blitzing and getting in the backfield quick with those big boys. They have one of the better defenses in 4A in the Metroplex.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 07:50 PM
Caleb Holt kicks the field goal.

Argyle 10-0

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 07:51 PM
Hutch starts from their own 19 after the kickoff.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 07:52 PM
3:34 left in the first quarter. 3rd and 3 now for Hutch.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 07:54 PM
Hutch on their own 26 yd. line. A deep throw to an open Marcus Acey was overthrown. Acey committed verbally this week to Missouri. Argyle fair catches the punt at the Argyle 40 to start this series.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 07:56 PM
Sweatt picks up a big run on 1st, but a flag is thrown and it will come back. Helmet came off and a dead ball foul. Now it's 2nd and 8 after the markoff.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 07:56 PM
Big run by Ledford on a keeper sweep that is led by Sweatt blocking down to the 28 of Hutch. That was a 28 yd carry.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 07:58 PM
Sweatt fumbles the handoff on a mixup in the backfield at the Hutch 14 and Hutch recovers the ball.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 08:00 PM
3rd and 8 from the 16 on that overthrown pass. Argyle was pressuring the Hutch qb.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 08:01 PM
Bearden sacks Azaka, the Hutch qb down at the 9. Flag is thrown for holding, but Argyle will decline it. Bearden will play for Air Force next season.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 08:03 PM
Hutch punts and Shane McKinney absolutely decleats a Hutch defender as Argyle returns the punt down to the Hutch 23.

End of 1st

Argyle 10-0 and threatening again. They turned it over last series down here on that fumble in the backfield.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 08:04 PM
First & goal at the 8 for Argyle. Now 2nd and goal at the 5 after a Sweatt carry.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 08:07 PM
Jetsweep to Estrada scores easily untouched for another Eagles TD. Snap is high to Estrada, so he takes it on the run to the pylon and scores a 2 point conversion.

Argyle 18-0

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 08:14 PM
Hutch had a long run for a TD called back for holding....about 40 yds. Now they have to punt. Estrada has a big return down to the Hutch 30 as Argyle set up a good wall for Estrada.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 08:15 PM
JC Chalk picks up about 5 on 1st down on that run. Ledford with a quick throw to Tarwater incomplete on 2nd. 3rd and 5 now.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 08:17 PM
Motion on Argyle offense. 3rd and 10 now. Pick up of 5 yds at the 27 yd line. Holt may go in for the field goal. NOPE....a handoff to Sweatt for 7 for an Eagle first down.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 08:19 PM
Sweatt gets the handoff, but nowhere to go on that one. 2nd and 10 as Hutch blitzes almost every play. Screen pass to Sweatt but Brewer comes up to make the tackle. A gain of 3 looked like he might score, but Brewer came up quickly for the stop.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 08:20 PM
4th and 4 from the 15. Holt kicks a 32 yarder good for another 3-pointer.
Argyle 21-0

Holt is 25-25 in extra points and 9-9 in field goals this season.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 08:25 PM
The qb for Wilmer Hutchins is Azakytu....number 1. Punt by Hutch gives up another huge return by Estrada to take it all the way down to the Hutch 16.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 08:26 PM
Argyle has had trouble running the ball on this good Hutch defense. In fact, Hutch has thrown Argyle for more losses this half than any other team this season.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 08:28 PM
3rd and 17 after a Hutch sack and 2 Ledford incompletions. Hutch D holds again. Holt for a 39 yarder. The kick is good from 39 yds out this time. Now he's 10-10 on the season.

Argyle 24-0

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 08:35 PM
End of half

Argyle 24

Hutch 0

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:14 PM
Argyle kicks off to WH to start the 2nd half. 3 and out for Hutch and they will punt from their own 23.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:15 PM
Estrada calls a fair catch, but McCook actually fields it at the WH 42. Sweatt takes it down to the Hutch 20 on first down. And now he runs it again to the WH 6. Sweatt runs it in from the 6, but a holding call on the Argyle offense. This has been a problem for the Eagles this season. Negates the Sweatt touchdown. Now it's at the 15.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:17 PM
2nd and goal at the 15.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:18 PM
Inside screen from Ledford to Estrada down to the 3 yd line. 3rd and goal now for the Eagles

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:20 PM
Sweatt walks in for the score untouched with great blocking by the Argyle line. Holt's kick is good.

Argyle 31-0

8:34 3rd qtr.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:21 PM
Low line drive kickoff to the 13 is returned by Hutch to their 28 yd line for their best starting field position tonite.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:22 PM
3rd and 10 now for Hutch.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:23 PM
Azakytu throws it and hits Sparks at the 50 for a great play down to the Eagle 49. Great catch by Sparks.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:25 PM
Azakytu throws it deep to Sparks again and a flag is thrown. Looks like Sparks pushed off Dylan Sadler but they called interference on Sadler. Hutch down to the 32 yd line with the flag.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:26 PM
Azakytu is throwing every down now for Hutch. Azakytu threw a strike but his receiver could not hold on to it.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:27 PM
Argyle held Hutch to just 4 yds. rushing in the first half. 4th and 1 for Hutch now.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:28 PM
Naturally Hutch will go for it. Player down for Argyle....Lundy is helped off the field. Looks like a problem with his left leg.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:30 PM
Azakytu finds a hole up the middle and makes a move then takes it in off of Acy's block on Sadler downfield for the score. They go for 2 and get it.

Argyle 31
Hutch 8

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:31 PM
Now Hutch will kick to Argyle. I wonder if they will kick it deep. Kick goes to Estrada as he returns it to the Argyle 44. Flag down on the play. Block in the back against Argyle backs it up to the 33 yd line.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:33 PM
Ledford throws it short, but the reciever comes back for it and interference is called on Brewer of Hutch. Now bubble screen to McCook for a good gain.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:34 PM
1st and 10 at the Hutch 38. Now a completion for 5 yds to Scott Smith. Ledford throws it to McCook, who is lit up by Wheaton as he cannot hold on to it. That was a big hit on McCook.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:35 PM
Sweatt runs it for 10 more and another first down now.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:36 PM
Argyle first and 10 on the bubblescreen to McCook for 4 yds. 2nd and 6 for Argyle now.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:36 PM
Ledford checks off to JC Chalk for a gain of 7 on that completion down to the Hutch 15.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:37 PM
Now Taylor Sweatt runs it down to the one yard line carrying tacklers. That was a 14 yd power run.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:38 PM
Now Sweatt is hit in the backfield as Argyle losses a couple of yards at the 5 yd line. Incomplete pass overthrown to Sweatt. 3rd and goal from the 5 now.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:39 PM
Sweatt off right tackle for the score. Kick by Holt is good.

Argyle 38
Hutch 8

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:48 PM
Argyle backups in now on offense and defense.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:49 PM
End of 3rd

38-8 Argyle

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 09:52 PM
55 yd Pick 6 now for Gage Campbell of Argyle as he was playing centerfield and just went up and got that one at its height and then made some moves running it back and broke a tackle at the 15 to take it all the way for the touchdown. Kick is good.

Argyle 45-8

regaleagle

Kudos to the Wilmer Hutchins band for nonstop playing practically the whole game. It was Hutch's homecoming tonite.

regaleagle
10-16-2015, 10:12 PM
Dillon Carter to Chase Estrada here late in the game for touchdown. A very good catch by Chase Estrada....Drew's younger brother. Dillon is a freshman at qb and Chase is a sophomore.

Argyle 52-8

2:13 left in the game

Beginning to look like this team is more balanced than last year's team on offense. No question the defense is super. And the talent pool is deep with all the quality underclassmen getting their minutes now. Freshman qb Dillon Carter will be on some college scouting radars by his junior season. But Ledford still has this year and another left to lead this offense. Jake Pelton is another nice backup with size at RB to take over next year. He is a junior. There's all kinds of talented young players on this team. Most of the really talented freshmen and sophs are getting some needed playing time.

JMO, But I think Argyle is stronger with Pelton at RB and Sweat at LB. With Sweat and Speed at the LBs you can close the gaps and blitz the QB. I think Sweat is a great athlete but his twitch on his innitial burst is slow. I think Pelton hits the hole faster and gives Argyle more balance. Putting Sweat back at LB makes Argyles defense ridiculous. Your lineman can bull rush knowing the LBs have the run stopped. Again JMO.

I've always felt Argyle would be better served with Sweatt back at linebacker. There's plenty of offensive weapons to go to, and you are right about Pelton. He does have a good burst and is strong as a bull. Maybe the coaches will start giving him more minutes to see how he does with more carries. Some backs do better than others when they get more reps. Pelton has really never had a chance to play behind the starting Oline for lots of reps. Might be a good move all the way around for Argyle. And besides that, Sweatt is a Sr. and Pelton is only a Jr.

They may have had a couple of 2's but definitely not enough on the roster to have 3's. Looked like they had about 30 players suited up.
