Statewide Playoff Scores and Matches - Softball

I am not really wanting to start something new but thought for the playoffs we should have a separate post for playoff scores and matches between softball and baseball to avoid confusion. Maybe next year have a separate post for them during the season too.

I was told that Devine beat Aransas Pass last night in Mathis by the score of 6 - 5. Devine plays Raymondville next and the winner of that plays the winner of Sinton - Bishop.

The Sinton girls traveled to Shiner today for a warm-up game. They went 8 innings but came up short 1 run! This was still a great experience to prepare them for this week's area game! Good Luck, Lady Pirates!!

The Sinton Lady Pirates beat the Bishop Lady Pirates tonight 9 to 0. I have heard that they play Devine next week but I don't know when or where.

In other Region IV news, Ingleside lost to Hebbronville tonight, score was close, I think 5-4 or 4-3 (as reported by local tv station).

Pirate the game between the Sinton Lady Pirates and the Devine Lady Warhorses should be a good one because they both beat Aransas Pass by one run so the teams should be even. The game will probably be decided by mistakes. GO LADY PIRATES!

Greenwood beat Borger this past Friday and will play Perryton this coming Friday in Lubbock, time and place is TBA.

Where in Seguin is the game being played?

It will be played at Seguin High School. From what I've heard this field only seats a couple of hundred people. Some of you may want to bring lawn chairs & arrive early.

Pirate it may be better than was first thought. I just heard that they build a brand new stadium. Hopefully it will be more adequate. Of course this is second hand information so I don't know for sure.

Phil, the stadium is only 2 years old, but from what I understand their seating is limited (like every softball field). So, lawn chairs for those who don't like to be "crowded" are recommended.

Pirate you were right about the stadium. But we got there early and had good seats. Sinton beat Devine in the playoff game there tonight 9 - 2.

Wharton def. Hallettsville, 3-0. Sinton will face them in the next round. Location needs to be ok'd by superintendent & AD/Coach from Wharton, should have info as early as tomorrow & as late as Monday. Will update as soon as I know. Great job, Lady Pirates!!!

Pirate, I heard the softball game between Sinton and Wharton will be in Port Lavaca but that is just second hand information. The day and time is not known yet.

This should be make or break game for the Lady Pirates. #6 Wharton apparently has a solid softball team. Best of luck to the Lady Pirates! wink

Wharton has a young team (1 SR.) without a lot of playoff experience. Freshman pitcher threw a 1-hitter against a good Hallettsville team, but only struck out 2. Team played good defense and made only one error. Fair team speed, just so far has not made many mistakes to beat themselves. Only loss to a 3A team was a district loss to Sweeny.
Looks like Sinton is lightning fast, playing small ball to light up the board and playing good defense. I haven't seen the scouting report yet from Seguin, but I've seen some of their games reported in the newspapers. Looks to be a great game. Go Lady Tigers!

I just want to send a shout out to the Lady Pirates of Sinton High School. I want to wish you the best of luck against Whartan this friday. You girls make me proud to say that I am from Sinton. You will have your hands full that night, so play some smart ball out there. I will not be able to make it to the game, but my heart will be out there with you girls. Win or lose you still did you part and make the people of Sinton proud. I hope I will be able to see you girls play in Austin, seeing that will be the only time I will be able to watch ya'll(because that is where I live). Good Luck to both teams. May God be with you all. Play safe and play smart softball out there.
