Cant hardly stomach the AP poll, but when is the last time that Graham, Stephenville, Abilene Wylie and Liberty Hill were all excluded from votes (all at the same time).....not even in the 'other's receiving votes'....

AW and LH should of at least gotten votes, imo

Alvarado too, for that matter.

All that you mentioned have loss 2 games at minimum except Alvarado, who lost to #12 LV by the score 53-6. Who should any of those teams be ahead of?

Orange Grove surprise they didn't get a vote from somebody, top notch passing attack.

277 pts scored 55.4 avg

64 pts given up 12.8 avg

5-0 record

That is odd to see those teams with not even a single vote. However, we all know what the AP poll is worth. And here we see the fallacy of not having it split into DI and DII. Six of the top 10 teams are DII, and eight of the top 17 are DII. You split the poll into respective divisions, and you'd likely see those teams you were talking about make it into at least the 'receiving votes' portion of the poll.

the initial point is that i just don't think i've ever seen that....with all 4 teams missing.

and true, they all have 2 losses or more, and this poll, more than others, is driven by the W-L more than anything else, but I would take AW over 3/4 of the teams listed in a head to head and LH in at least 1/2 of them.

True, True and True. After week 5, it really makes no sense to keep the 2 divisions ranked together.....since their paths will never cross again.

actually, i wouldnt....you guys are clearly ignored in virtually all the polls....not sure why thats the case, as you have a very good team this year.....maybe its the 53-6 dankey stomp, out of the gates....or that you just arent viewed as a traditional power....whatever the case, you guys are being grossly overlooked.

Like someone said earlier. This poll is all about win/loss. WOS went from 3 to 8 because of losing to a Richmond Foster team that is 4 times larger(Literally) and just barely lost to the 5A #3 team.

The AP poll likes to rank wins and loses too much. Yes, winning is important, but they rarely look at who you are playing and take that into account. WO-S could lose to Allen by 21 and would still drop.

LOL.

Like I said two nights ago I don't see the top ten changing at all the rest of the regular season unless a major upset occurs. What are the closest games that are marquee matchups left out of that group? Kennedale vs Alvarado and Giddings vs LaGrange? Sinton doesn't have the easiest remaining schedule and I'm actually interested to see how Navarro does against a WAY under the radar Wimberley.

Orange Grove has a some what under the radar team in Rio Hondo at home and maybe Port Isabel on the road still on the schedule. I will go see Orange Grove at Port Isabel on Oct. 30th. Orange Grove is averaging 55 pts a game and that average will most likely go up after this week.

Of course, it depends on the opponent. Lytle had negative total yards for the game against Navarro. The Panthers have a good D, but we're not the 1984 Chicago Bears. BTW, Lytle had plenty of strong kids that got after it. Their coaching, however, needs some adjustment to put it nicely.

The Poll Sweetwater posted above is actually the Dave Campbell 4A-D2 poll this week.. not the AP. I actually like it better than the AP and not just being a homer. Still very very strange seeing 7 out of the 10 being from Regions III and IV. Whomever emerges from the bottom half of that bracket will definitely be battle-tested. Injuries are the question though.

I like the Dave Campbell poll better, too. WOS should be higher in the AP. The way you played Foster was a plus in my opinion.

The poll is good for conversation, but everyone knows who will be making the move up the list come playoff time in the DI. God Bless player, coaches, and fans.
