The Battle of the Brazos. Two Top 20 teams. Both 6-0. Both capable of putting up huge numbers on offence and stuffing opponents on defense. It harkens back to the '07 Region 3 Championship in old Floyd Casey.....

Who you got?

There is a very intense but civil rivalry between them. The local paper tried to add "fuel" several years ago, The Have's vs the Have nots. That is furtherest from the truth. The kids know each other and have respect for each other. Its not near the animosity of China Spring vs Robinson.

LaVega is 5-2 vs China Spring the last 7 meeting back to '07. ( They were not in the same district 08-09). Last year is was 28-24 China Spring.

Picked CS over Fairfield by around 21.....ended up being 31.
Picked CS of Burnet by 14-21.....ended up being 22.

Picking CS over La Vega by 14-21.

China Spring is the best 4a team I've seen this year (which includes La Grange). I don't see them losing is district play.

China Spring finally has the size and speed to compete with La Vega. I say CS by 14!! The rivalry is there but not real intense. Some Waco media a few years ago had the nerve to "quote" a CS fan saying it was cash vs trash. They were called out by both schools.

La Vega wins this one. It will be a great game. La Vega to much speed for China spring this week. China spring can win if they don't let Vega get going early like Alvarado did. La Vega 42 China Spring 35.

Never thought that CS couldn't catch them. I also know yall won't be scared of them. It just makes us look a little better if they remain undefeated. I just wanted to get some interest going because if we didn't play Friday night I would definitely be driving down to watch the game.

No really. Burnet was their District Track champions. Sent a bunch to Regional Meet. Same for Connally. Fairfield RB is a ATM commit. Cameron probably has the best RB in the state not to mention wide receivers that can flat out fly.

Not when your entire backfield is on the 4 x 100 relay team. Fast is fast no matter where you run.

No worries on the speed , both teams are loaded with that , LV better figure out a way to stop the 3 D lineman . We could not win that battle with 6 on 3 ! Them dudes are big , fast and strong .

Not sure who to take here. I haven't seen China Spring play in anything other than 7 on 7 this year, but I have seem a couple of La Vegas like competitors in both Gatesville and Alvarado.

Personally I hate La Vega as a team, but knew a lot of the guys on the teams when I was on varsity from 06-08 and always had respect for them. I'm going to say China Spring loses the district contest, just like we did in 07, but takes them down in the playoffs.

That doesn't mean I won't be rooting for the cougs. I'm just happy the team doesn't suck anymore.

The Cameron game was packed. Great place to play.....only complaint is that the concession stand ran out of water before halftime.

Not as bad as Georgetown ISD having a line over a mile long waiting to get into the Cameron/Rockdale playoff game when kickoff took place. They had like 3-4 people taking money to park. I guess they expected like 3,000 people or something. I remember one of the staff members there saying they had never seen anything like that ever, even when Georgetown was playing there. How about just add a dollar or two to every ticket price? Started running out of food before the game even started. I got there at 5:30 and luckily just got in before it started getting bad.

Thought they would have been more prepared.

Well, our offense could never get untracked. QB had a terrible night throwing and our great RB had maybe 40 yards. We were down 16-7 with 5 min left and then we threw a 70 yard TD. We held them and got the ball back with 3 min left and again could do nothing. Our defense fought all night and really to limit them to 16 I think is awesome. We'll be ok.
