Which are the best of the new teams which are 10yo or less. Which do you think have the best chance of becoming a traditional power?

Do you mean teams who have became good in the past 10 years after years of nothing, or as in the team is only 10yo?

Interested to see how Brock ends up this year. SOS has been soft early on, but I think right now they are the team to beat on that side of the bracket. Pottsboro may be the top competition from region II. Probably Wall in region I.

I would agree with Cibolo Steele as it seems they have taken the place of Smithison Valley . I think Lovejoy will be a school that will continue to have success.

Thanks, we are looking forward to Celina growing and playing them again.

Isn't Argyle only 11 years old. It just barely misses the 10 year criteria.

Brock's been around longer than 10 years. They won both girls and boys basketball state titles several years between 2001-2004. Cibolo-Steele opened in 2005 and is currently the only Texas UIL football program to have a higher win percentage than WOS. Manvel opened in 2006, DeKaney in 2007 but neither had immediate great success.

So, does that mean you will be updating your signature line? ;)

13 going on 14 this season. First 3 yrs. in 2A before moving up. Lost to Newton 28-20 for State D-1 in 3rd yr. Celina won State D-2 that season and was in our district, so we both made it all the way to the final.....they won, we lost. In fact, they went undefeated that season.

They've played barely 100 games. Every loss drops them at least 1-2%. If they end the season ahead sure! But then you have the Permians and Southlakes who've denied WOS has had a higher % than them since 2005 using the ole "you need to play at least 500 games" argument when both of them opened less than 20 years before WOS. We're over 450 now. I suppose to be correct it should say for any program that's played more than 10 years, geez a team could win its first game and be 100% does that count? I'll put it this way... WOS could lose their next 10 games and still be ahead of Permian and Southlake. Cibolo wouldn't.

I get that....I was just referring to the 10 years part, since it's been 10 years. 10 years is 10 years, right? Maybe they haven't been playing varsity all 10 though....honestly, I don't know.

So long as they don't build another school nearby, Fort Bend Ridge Point.

LOL that's not gonna happen. When I was in High School there was Dulles, Willowridge and brand new Clements. Now there are how many? Back then there was also only Cy-Fair, Cy-Creek and Jersey Village in the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Langham Creek first fielded a team in 1986. Between Fort Bend ISD and Cy-Fair ISD they will have 30 high schools combined in the next 5-10 years. I suppose they could go the Katy and Dallas ISD route and funnel all of their best athletes to Katy High and Dallas Skyline respectively, but I don't see that happening.

Not hardly. Because of the school that is in the state's top 10 all time winning record and three time defending champion. oYe!
