from what iv seen on video, Brownwoods offense is better than Stephenville's at this point.. more consistant, that may change moving fwd, but thats my honest take on it..our D hasnt been "shut down" calibur..but, has gotten us stops when we needed them..they are improving every week..the effort is definitly there! if the Jackets want to play our type of game, they may not have a choice, and we keep it close, i like our chances..and thats all you can ask for at this point in the season..relying on history wont get the Jackets anywhere in this game.

Alvarado football...last friday, we ran 71 offensive plays..Brownwood ran 40..we had atleast 2 drives of 7-8 minutes, 80 plus yards..like most spread teams..BWD was impatient, and couldnt establish rythem offensively..in a nutshell, thats Alvarado football.
very focused practice yesterday..sometimes a last second victory changes a team for the better..i think it has for the Indians.

We played Indian football..long clock draining drives, timely defensive stops!! That's Indian football.. neither Brownwood or Stephenville could stop us when it got down to the nut crunch.. We had 71 plays to the Lions 40 offensively.. that's Indian football I'm sure that count was similar tonite against the Jackets.. That 4th &12 pass wasn't lucky, it was clutch. and that is Indian football.. Are we a top 10 team? No, but we are making progress and striving to get better and hopefully win district and have a good playoff run..we are not where we belong, we are where we need to be at this point in the season.

from what iv seen on video, Brownwoods offense is better than Stephenville's at this point.. more consistant, that may change moving fwd, but thats my honest take on it..our D hasnt been "shut down" calibur..but, has gotten us stops when we needed them..they are improving every week..the effort is definitly there! if the Jackets want to play our type of game, they may not have a choice, and we keep it close, i like our chances..and thats all you can ask for at this point in the season..relying on history wont get the Jackets anywhere in this game.

A Personal Foul was called. A HS kid doing something stupid in the heat of the moment, but you can bet our coaches didn't tell him to do that and they will deal with him this week in practice.

Alvarado had a personal foul or two, but don't think anybody was embarrassed by them.

Penalties in the game are nothing to be embarrassed about, I don't believe either coaching staff coaches kids to commit personal fouls.

Never said anyone tried to hurt anyone or break rules. Just frustrated by the "lack of professionalism" by the coaching staff that this move showed, in my opinion. I don't have a problem with your son. or any of the players. 76 had a great game.

Now, getting a cramp (or faking a cramp) and laying in the field of play for 3 to 4 minutes at critical times for the opposing team is not "breaking the rules of the game." These cramps only came after 3 or 4 positive plays, aftera big first down and only when we were in our hurry-up offense. As far as I know there is no rule against faking and injury at the HS level, it just "lacks professionalism." The "hurt" kid has to come out, you get a free time-out, get to catch your breath and get to make personnel changes.

You have obviously seen the video, did you notice that all 3 times it happened that the player would run over directly in front of the ref - well after the play was well over - then drop and grab his leg?

Your opinion may be totally different, and I am OK with that. It is your team -- you would defend them no matter what.

He had his arms around the player trying to get to the ball. The kid who made the interception was considerably shorter than #15 and his helmet came off in #15's arms as he fell to the ground. 15 did not "Rip" the helmet off. He did throw the helmet after the play which did show a tremendous lack of professionalism. the flag was not thrown until he threw the helmet. Watch the video again. That misstep is being addressed this week.

So Yes, throwing a helmet is a bush-league move.

BTW, The Indians had just as many personal fouls (if not one more) than the Jackets.

And btw, Everman lost again...making them 2-2 with their 2 victories coming to an 0-5 Southwest team and pep-rally game against some private Catholic school, which is also 0-4.....so your 'shootout' signature win against Everman is starting to look far from impressive.

I'm good, Friday was rough to watch, but there is more to life than these boards. Had a great weekend, welcomed a new life into the world on Sunday. Couldn't be better. Just help pass the work day by reading and posting here. I do enjoy debate.
