Don't forget the Carthage Dawgs, third straight 5A team and the Dawgs are getting better each week. 28 to 25 Dawgs win against the Nac Dragons.

Shhhh. Let's see how Carthage does against competition that doesn't have 2-3 times out enrollment. We play Gladewater and Gilmer next 2 weeks, so let's see where we are. But I think a storm is brewing. We are playing physical, PHYSCIAL football right now. This has a chance to be one of the best defenses we have ever had. I don't remember us playing this well this early in this side of the ball since 2009. Oline coming together to look like the Olines we have been so fortunate with over the years. A staple of Carthage football. Offense continues to get better. We still have some work to do, but things feel so much like all those special years. Young kids stepping up all over the field. Team learning how to win. These were kids for the most part that didn't have much experience after playing behind that group of seniors that left in 2013. Almost all those kids had been 3 year starters when they left. We started pretty much from scratch last season. This is a fun group here. I love the intensity they are playing with.
