Good Shutout for Glimer too.

Gilmer is absolutely NOT known for pitching shutouts. We usually have a good defense and depend on a great offense, but this year, that D-line is brutal.
Sounds like the Celina vs Argyle game was very similar to the LE vs Gilmer game this year. Great games with no real winner or loser this early in the season, but fun to watch.

Way to hang in there Argyle, I suspect the Eagles to adjust and be a force. Hopefully we do the same.

OK enough of the niceties. Argyle wins this game by 20+. Celina is considered a favorite because why.....they won games vs Liberty Christian and Bryan Adams??? Liberty is Argyle's farm team and Bryan Adams is a washed up Canadian musician. Come on now. Argyle has made it to two straight state championship games winning them both........sorry Freudian slip:doh:....winning one and losing the other in double OT. This is an experienced team, coming off a state championship appearance, with a ton of returning talent. This team is for real.
Jerry's computer must be serviced by the same folks that work on BrianDumith's.... Time to reboot.

GO EAGLES!!

There is the post I was looking for!

All I have seen towards the end of this were the ones about how
Argyel was a young team with a lot to learn... Which one are they?

I know they don't EVER quit!
Good luck the rest of the year!

The Eagles are still a "work in progress", but made some positive strides tonite despite too many missed tackles and mistakes. Sometimes losing an early one to a really good team is the best medicine for your team. I'm hoping that's the case with this season's Argyle Eagles. It's tough to play 3 ina row away to start the season when each week is against some pretty decent ballclubs. I'm not surprised that Celina won tonite.....I kinda had a feeling they had something good going on. And I kinda knew already the Eagles running game was not up to par yet. You gotta like the way Ledford is coming along though. And some other younger players, but some of the players still need some more minutes til their talent and comfort level starts taking over. That's my overall take on tonite's game against Celina. A timely game to have a loss for this team.

WOS hangs their best win ever on what was supposed to be a decent Jasper. This season should be rather interesting.

I saw the filmclips on FSSW tonite. WOS looked just awesome in that game tonite. They will be tough to beat by anybody this season.

Guy's I hope this doesn't hurt anyone's feelings, but I'm gonna tell it like I saw it. ( And I am a HUGE ARGYLE fan)

Celina came out and hit Argyle right in the mouth. They're offensive line dominated all night. They're defensive line dominated all night. The defense for Argyle could not bring down #5, and he literally ran away with the game.

The officiating was poor all around. Not just for 1 team, but for both.

Argyle's Has playmakers on both sides of the ball. They made several huge plays tonight to keep them in the game. Argyle had 2 deeps passes in the first half where the receiver toasted the DB's and if they could have connected on them, that's 2 more scores. I'm proud of the Eagles for never quitting or giving up.

Finally, I would like to Congratulate the Celina Bobcats on this HUGE win! I would also like for all you Celina folk that wasn't sure about your QB, to rest easy. Yall got yourselves a QB! Go take care of business now and go get that title. You are a contender!

That's why I like Argyle folk. Reagle is of the same class. Good luck to Argyle the rest of the way, I, for one, will be cheering you guys on, hopefully, back to the title game.

The Biggest Doubter on this Board for the Bobcats beating Argyle was ME and I am on my third helping of crow this morning. With that said I do feel that the graduation of Nick Ralston is a bigger factor in this Argyle team as compared to last year. You just do not replace a Nick Ralston...young man was a beast. Both teams have many more games to play and for the Bobcats next weeks game will be just as challenging as this one or maybe even tougher as I know there was a lot of emotion and heart left on the field by those young men which I would say is true for the Argyle team as well. One last note for some reason our victory over Argyle seems to have really fired up Kennedale fan base as a co worker of mine called me after the game. I swear he is already getting his vacation set up as he thinks they are going to make it to State this year! I have to much GA Moore in me as i will tell you I am always worried about the next team we are about to play.

Graduation HAPPENS... The year before, Sadler graduated and Argyle would never be the same, but they may have been better without him, ultimately. The young MEN of this years Celina team did something that they
hadn't done yet last night, Beat Argyle. They need to enjoy the weekend, then forget last night ever happened (until of course they are at Class Reunion 10 years from now)! We saw some growing up last night and it was AWESOME!

Does anyone from Argyle want to sell me one of those nifty "Crush Celina Again" T-Shirts?

The reason it is so quite from the Celina side is that this years team is about like last years team. Argyle will beat us tonight and it could be ugly ( Gilmer comes to mind) . We then will play Bishop Lynch who stomped us pretty good last year then roll thru the rest of the schedule until we meet Sweetwater and if we get past them then Gilmer again will be our downfall. We are not going to get another State Title this year. It is not that type of team and if we did have that type of team there would be more Bobcat fans on this board than you could possibly imagine just as it would be with many other teams including Argyle. Have not seen one Kilgor fan on the board this season buy when they were a top 5 team seems to me a lot of them were posting.

I don't post much on here, because I am out earning a living, but it's guys like Celina8 tha; get on here andt 1) don't know jack about the game anymore and 2) get on here and bash the team (sometimes subtly under their breath with backheaded compliments or even directly like he did here), who chaff my taint. Dude, you need to zip your lips, stop typing and stop bashing the kids! You obviously don't know these kids ("i can remember back when we got this dynasty rolling back in the 60's") And then after you are proven to be the negative nellie you really are; respond with an "I guess I will eat crow. Dude, have some class, cheer for your team, be positive and if you can't just shut your mouth and if you really are that Class B hero from yesteryear who got this ball rolling (I thought Bonham beat Celina by 50 points regularly in the 60's?!?!?; you should amble your tail up to practice this morning and rather than "eat crow" from the safety of your house, you should apologize to the team!

All I'm gonna say!

It's hard to replace a Nick Ralston no doubt. And anytime you have to bring up a young QB that hasn't played in a big game, will bring doubt until he proves himself. Kennedales best chance at a State Title was last year. Not sure they could beat Navasota this year. Not sure they could even get passed LE. But if we meet again in the playoffs, we Welcome the challenge.

All winning streaks eventually come to an end, and I suppose it is only fitting for our neighbor and rival the Celina Bobcats to end Argyle's regular season winning streak. I don't know what the number is, but the streak is now over. Time to start a new one. That's just the mentality you'll find with these kids over in Argyle. They will move forward and work hard to improve......they have a winning mentality. That's usually half the battle in sports right there. Celina has plenty to be proud of from last night's win. They came, they overcame, and they conquered......but mainly they overcame themselves against Argyle. They are a very good ballclub and deserve the accolades for this win. Argyle has to look into the mirror closely and admit they committed waaay too many mistakes. I think they probably did that in the locker room last night after the game. They are a good group and will eventually become a very tough team to beat, imo. Now it's time to get prepared for Graham in the home opener.

I honestly didn't give Celina a chance in this game. What a great win! Watching the highlights on TV this morning and saw a bus parked on the street all decked out in Celina attire. Looked like something you would see at a NASCAR event with people sitting on top. Is this just some random fans??

It is owned by parents with kids in the program. Up to the beginning of this year it was owned by a group of 7 families
(including my family) that owned it since our boys were in 8th grade but they graduated last year and we sold it to another group of parents with kids in jr high.

Just so everyone that was wondering knows......the regular season winning streak was 31 games. It turned out to be the exact number that ended Argyle's winning streak at last season's State Championship game against Navasota. I thought that was kinda strange.....stranger than fiction, LOL!!!

One is a consecutive game winning streak and the other is just for the regular season each year, not counting the playoff games.
