Radio station KCTI (1450 AM) in Gonzales went dark on August 31, 2015. The station had operated continuously since December of 1947 with Apache sports being part of its genre. The station had discontinued Apache sports in 2013 and was primarily operated as an outlet of a broadcasting service out of Nashville. Even the local news was being prepared in and broadcast from Nashville via satellite.
