Gary Kasparov and X3D Fritz played to a draw like I expected and the match ended in a draw with both players winning 1 game out of four and two draws. It was a well played game by both sides. The sad thing is that the computers are going to get better and better and eventually beat man's best players :(.

My 12 year old son beat me in chess Sunday. I can sympathize with Gary.

A fairly reliable source told me that Kasparov made a really bonehead move in one of the matches but he couldn't elaborate. Do you know what he did?

That was in Game 2 when he moved his rook to a back rank and left some pieces unprotected. The computer took advantage and got into position to get even more but Kasparov knowing he was beaten resigned. But the computer made an error the next game and Gary was able to push it for a win and tie the match again which was the way it ended today after the draw.
