Navarro Panthers beat 5A Medina Valley 56-0. We had 56 pts. after three quarters and subs in the 4th. We did have our road white jerseys on but we're as purple as it gets.

Always loved being orange and black myself. Many on here probably don't remember football ribbons, but from my earliest childhood, I remember buying them from high school students who got out of school for a few hours to go sell them around town and then proudly wearing them.

The Buckeyes' ribbons would be orange with black lettering one week and then black with orange lettering the next week. Occasionally they'd be white with orange letters. I'd collect them over the course of a season and put them on the wall in my room.

Does any school do football ribbons anymore? Gilmer must've stopped that practice close to 30 years ago. Maybe it was because of Ross Perot's reforms that kept students from being able to get out of class and go do fun stuff like that.

Yep...I remember the ribbons as a little boy during my sisters days at Robert E. Lee High in Houston.....ribbons and even decorated poster boards taped on the cars on my dad's 1968 Chevrolet Impala!!!.....folks went crazy decorating cars!.......but there was a price to pay......like 4 slashed tires after a game at Butler Stadium!!!......:dispntd:
