El Campo vs Gregory Portland

Gregory Portland returns 17 starters from an 8-5 5A regional semifinalist.and will be a good test for the Birds after looking at almost nothing but new kids in their scrimmages. Dove and Harris may have to carry these young Birds for two or three games and then I think we will see a really good football team Still to much over all team speed for GP. EC by 13 at home.

Yes Dove no doubt is a beast but GP will slow him and Harris down. GP"s defense is much improved from last year and the GP offense will also be better than last year. GP got a couple new transfers in this summer and remember the name Randell Harris, hes only a soph but his skills as QB & RB are very good. Its going to be a much closer game than last year when both teams faced each other for the first time. Just hope both teams come out of this game injury free. Definately going to be a slobberknocker!!

The EC paper has Dove at 250 lbs this season. He definitely looked bigger in the scrimmages but I was thinking about 240. If he still has about the same speed he'll be something. Guess we'll find out in a couple of hours.

Bummer going down on a missed PAT has to be tough. GP must be legit this year.

GP is definately legit, it should of been worse. GP lost 4 fumbles and one was on the EC 5 and EC fell on it in the endzone for a TD. El Campo will rebound for a good long playoff run. Good hard hitting game for both teams.

Actually, El Campo's defense just might be that bad. Dove was held out of the 1st quarter.

Regardless, El Campo has a lot of room for improvement.

Dove wasnt held out from the first qtr, he was suspended because he left a practice early. GP held him to 92 yds in those 3 qtrs.

GP is definitely legit. They beat the Ricebirds at their own game. Ran it right at them over and over and over. Like Weebe said,lots of room for improvement. You could see clearly who had 17 starters coming back and who had 14 starting on Friday for the first time. It will get better but the offense will have to carry the D for a few games.

He was held out for only the 1st qtr. from what I was told he left a practice early. Kudos for the coach trying to instill discipline for the team. EC will be fine they will rebound to make a good run in the playoffs.
