I find it interesting that my boys (Everman) are ranked 7th in 3A still...Everman lost to 4A #3 North Crowley by 3 while half the team was still in football, they lost to 4A #5 Austin LBJ by 4...also when they had a full squad they beat #2 Gainesville by 8 and they also beat one of the 3 teams to beat Kountze (Burleson) easily when they still had guys in football..I know 8 losses is a lot but can anyone say underrated? (At least by the coaches LOL)

Matt, Kountze is a small 3A town, they too had boy's playing football. Who were the other 6 teams that Everman lost to? Newton bearly got by a very good Buna team-there is some pretty good teams in SE Texas. Hamshire-Fannett on a given night, can surprise folks!

Lemme see if I can rehash all of Everman's losses...North Crowley (4A #3), Austin LBJ (4A #5), Gainesville (first game of the year #2 3A) , FW Trimble Tech(16-9 4A) , FW Wyatt (14-8 4A), FW South Hills (16-9 4A)Colleyville Heritage (18-8 5A) and FW Poly (20-4 4A)....and all of those games were close...now you say geez Everman lost to some good teams..who have they beat? Well they have beaten 6-4A leader SL Carroll twice, top 20 4A Whitehouse, 3A #2 Gainesville, Burleson (who beat Kountze), 8-3A leader Alvarado by 42 and 16-9 4A Waco Midway....

Not knocking Kountze BBall program....because they have a good run going....but Everman was playing football until the middle of December. Thats quite a good chunk of non-district. When was Kountze through with football????

Merkel is now 24-2 with a 17 game winning streak. Both losses came with key players out with illness or injury. The Badgers made it up to #18 on the TABC rankings two weeks ago then fell out last week after defeating Clyde and Ballinger, two good teams. Go figure.
