I have not seen Wharton this year but historically Wharton teams can score big plays from anywhere on the field with their speed.
Their Qb was a senior last year so ????
They should have two RB's that can run like the wind. If teams can make them drive the ball say 8-10 plays, they may stop themselves. El Campo , Bellville etc usually can pound Wharton with a strong running game.

I watched Cuero in both scrimmages , they kinda had there way with Lockhart. Victoria West on the other hand did a good job of showing us what we need to correct! All and all , scrimmages are learning experiences. It may take a few games for this team to get it going , but I think by mid season we will be just fine.

Cuero has a different look this year after graduation losing such a dynamic running back they will have to change a lot of things along with the fact that they are very young 10 sophomores 3 freshmen and possibly more moving up. The real strength should be the line if they can control things the Gobblers will be in good shape this year.

Yessir Blue42, they will get better each week. It will also help to have both Hopkins boys back on D this week to start season. Always a fun game when Wharton and Cuero get together ! It's a good rivalry!!

Hey guys glad to be back again this year, I haven't seen wharton play yet but definately our speed and quickness will be our strength this year....good running teams give us trouble every year... Yes Hinze's is still good but a much smaller place on Richmond Road near 1301 across from CVS. They have a screened in patio in the back that sets about 12. Occupancy is around 40. Tastewoods also has good Barbecue near Whataburger near Denny's. 9ers Grill has good food too=-located between Sonic an CVS off FM 1301 with a big selection

Old Green the White Freshman Team won 8-6. I Pretty sure they played PL B team . My grandson is on white team but he injuried and he filmed Green team game. I watched both games in Cuero and they were very competive and what impressed me was the good sportsmanship shown by both teams. Players were helping each other up and pats on back after good plays. Very refreshing and speaks volumes about the Coaching staffs at both schools.
